I thought we would not be stopped straight after Max kicked that goal in the Prelim.

Which one?

Eliminating mark and kick, the choices are:

a) When he was the only one who knew the ball was touched and bounded through traffic to kick on the run;

b) Bursting out of the centre to kick from 60 metres on the marginally more elegant run; or

c) Outmuscled ruck in the pocket and kicked the goal even he did not think would go through.

Incidentally, well done team.  Few on line but 99 pages and rising.

The joke's on me 58er as I'm usually the one to pick up on little errors like that.

Scroll up further and you'll see a smarty pants post I already made about Bradshaw/Brayshaw.

In a valiant attempt to get this to 100 pages by New Year's Day, when did you know we had won the GF?

For me it was that moment in the PF, so far ahead in the 3rd quarter but Gus and Hibbo were madly diving in the Geelong goal square to deny even a point. Then I thought 'they will not let anybody beat them'.

ANBs goal to put us up by 42 is when I knew it was done. I felt it before that but when that goal went through I knew we definitely wouldn't lose (even being 5 points short of the Chris Sullivan line I think the time left in the game combined with the ubdeniabke momentum and the fact the Dogs had given up the ghost was enough for me to go one goal early 😅)

Why were there four bangs for three goals?

Either he was including Brayshaws goal from a few minutes earlier or he was emphasising the Oliver goal.

Oliver goal - bang!

Petracca, Sparrow, Oliver - Bang, bang, bang!!!

He only said bang once. Apparently there was an echo!

The first was for the goal itself.
The next three were for the context of the goal.

"Clayton Oliver goes bang, and the demons have gone bang bang bang."

That makes sense, even though there's only 3 goals.

I thought there may have been a silent bang.....like a silent pee in po....

I took this little vid at the event on December 5th and haven’t watched it since, until now that is. I just noticed something in the background. It looks as though there’s two kids embroiled in a punch-up. Am I seeing things?

Idk if I’ve attached it correctly coz not exactly au fait with technology. 😑

I think the comment by Taylor that Melbourne are drowning in goals, is right up there with bang etc.

Mind you it may have been a repeat of another time, another game.

Weirdly I actually saw this occurring on the day (unless there were multiple punch-ups between various children...) I think it was Jones that I saw 'breaking it up' by taking the footy, at which point the wrestle, which was really just a ball up situation, was abandoned! Just like in the big time. I remember mainly because I thought this was a smart tactic worth keeping up my sleeve for similar situations!

They had to be the kids of players because regular kids weren’t allowed on the field. Smart move by Jonesy!

I feel like we’re playing Kerplunk (remember that game?) or beat the bomb, or similar. Sooooo close to tipping over the line and hitting the 100-page goal. 😄

C’mon guys… LET’S DO THIS!!!

read it like     bang......(pause)......bang, bang, bang

the first won is either for the 3rd goal of for the whole sequence.  then the last 3 bangs are just playing it out for emphasis

at least that's is how i see it

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
