Ok....your Goody.

What do you say in the huddle three mins before the bounce.?

I wish Daniher was talking to them as well.

The coach in me says it's Max time. Coaches are over-rated. This team will win today if our leaders stand up. They have to drive the standards. The last few minutes should be all about them with Max having the final word.

Stick with the "just be us" message I reckon.

Don't confuse them with something different, don't make them overthink. Keep it simple, do what we do well.

Yea....Ive been wondering what one could really say that would make a difference.

Apart from the obvious about how hard you all have worked all year.

Im wondering if the drought will be mentioned and what the win will mean to those in lockdown.

But I know the boys are pretty gun ho anyway and have been shut up for two weeks waiting to get on with it.

I also know this is a very close knit group of players and mates that wont let each other down.

If I were Goody I would let Max talk if ID Probably just say....

YOU MEN CAN WIN THIS. YOU DESERVE THIS. JUST PLAY YOUR BEST AND  LEAVE NOTHING LEFT. THIS IS OUR TIME.

THIS IS YOUR TIME.

THIS IS THE CLUBS TIME.

THIS IS OUR TIME.

I would be genuinely keen to know what does get said.

I reckon it will be recorded, so that ifwhen we win we will have the benefit of it.

I’m thinking the motivation might start with acknowledging the honour the players have already paid so well to we supporters and to the ‘story’ through the year and up to now, so that then they can be given permission to forget about it now, today, and they can concentrate on doing this for themselves, doing it like they’ve done it all year, and finishing this chapter of their own story. The more they can be made aware of what their best is, as individuals and as teammates, and that their best is the best, the best set up to win they will be.

I think we project ourselves on all this. I reckon they’ll be ‘in the moment’, with just each other, and oblivious to the ‘fugazi’.

When Goody was on 360 for his coach of the year chat he said something about giving his longer motivational story on the Friday, so may have already been done!

Perhaps game day is more short and sharp, or as was mentioned above defers to Maxy and the leadership group

Forget about the noise and what it means snd all the emotion and just give your absolute best and focus on being absolute animal maniacs at the ball

JV says hello.😀

If you haven't seen the video the club put up with messages from all sorts of past players you need to see it.

Surprising not to see Neale but I reckon they'll show them a speech from the great man pre game!

Could be nothing more inspirational than hearing from him!

I'd keep it short & sweet, i.e:

Target Bont's left knee

Libba's ribs

And Treloar's feelings

Game will be over by 3/4 time

The only message from Goody should be "keep doing what you are doing and i will see you for a beer in 30 minutes"

GO DEES!!!!

The boys have been talking about only two things all month: the 57-year premiership drought, and the die-hard fans stuck back at home. It's our time. I don't think the message will stray far from this, as well as go out and play the way we have all year, the way they have been coached to do. That's enough motivation. All Goody has to do is get them to believe in themselves, as most pundits and posters on here know that we have a better team.

Enjoy the evening my friend.

In btw watching free to air channel seven and posting here it has kept me from using all my days beer provision.

I wish it was an arvo 2.30 game melb time match.

That’s just fantastic ❤️💙❤️💙❤️💙

Let’s just be us. Defend really strongly and apply enormous pressure. Don’t let Bont have space, don’t let McCrae have space.

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.

  • PREGAME: St. Kilda

With just over two weeks until their opening match of the 2026 AFL Premiership season, the Demons are already well on the path to redemption and have the Saints firmly in their sights ahead of their mid-March clash at the MCG. What do you think the team will look like when they run out on to the G?

  • REPORT: Richmond

Mars is not usually a place known for lighting strikes but on Friday evening it happened twice in the vicinity of the stadium in Ballarat that carries the name and is a half completed building site with limited capacity for spectators.

  • POSTGAME: Richmond

The Dees ran another clinic for the second week in a row as they easily accounted for the Tigers in the lightning interrupted shortened match at Mars Stadium in Ballarat.

  • VOTES: Richmond

Kozzy Pickett was the man of the match last week and has a vote lead over backup ruck Max Heath who didn't play this week and 5 votes over former Saint Jack Steele. Who gets the votes in this weeks shortened match win over the Tigers? Your votes please. 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 & 1.

  • GAMEDAY: Richmond

It's Game Day and the 2026 AFL Premiership season is almost upon us as the Demons take to the field for their final practice match before the first ball is kicked in anger in 16 days time. What are you expecting to see from the Dees today as they take on the Tigers at Mars Stadium in Ballarat?
