Hard to imagine a world where Port don't win by 5+ goals

Two plane rides this week for the Dogs

No Weightman

Bont on half a leg, with Treloar & Dunkley still half cooked

Three.  Tassie, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide for the PF..

Its weird that they didn't fly from Bris straight to Adel rather than to Perth first.  I read somewhere it was to bank some quarantine days in Perth'.

I would have thought maximising chances of winning the PF in Adelaide would have been their first priority.  Then worry about Perth quarantine if they win the PF.

Sounds like early counting of chickens to me.  Hope they run into the karma bus!

Maybe it won't all go Port's way:  "Fantasia and fellow goalsneak Robbie Gray were placed on light duties at Alberton Oval ahead of Port's preliminary final against the Western Bulldogs on Saturday night.  The pair didn't join Port's main group, instead doing skills work on the side lines".

Red herrings or genuine issues?

This is the forgotten prelim.

Dogs a massive chance to get into GF with very little pressure.

As an aside, I think the free kick differential is due to their name players just not getting the down side of all those 50/50 decisions - dropping the ball, incorrect disposal, holding, etc

Umpires defer to those name players ‘wouldn’t do that’ and voila 100 extra frees a year…

As good as Fantasia can be, he is as fragile as a porcaline doll, would not surprise me if he is not named or a late out.

Gray on the other hand is usually managed during a match week as a 33 y.o veteran.

I can only see a Port win, but they do have a strange way of choking when everything is completely in there favour.

Was listening to SEN earlier and they said Keath has a possible minor hammy concern and didn't participate in the main training session, in doubt for the game.

Worst possible result for the Dogs, who already have a dodgy defence, and an attack down on firepower.

Weirdly I think they can cover Bont more easily given how many star midfielders they have, but no Keath will make it virtually impossible to win. I also can't see how they kick a winning score against the Port backline, especially with Aliir just mopping up the high ball.

Yeah agree re: Bont. Port should walk into the GF. Being honest though, the Doggies were gifted a PF from the umps anyway. So cant feel that this is a bit of karma.

Given the preferential treatment the doggies get from the umps I've developed quite a dislike for them. Hope Port win

I also prefer to play Port in a granny.

Port are winning this and winning this well.

Despite people’s low opinion of this club, I think they’re our genuine threat for this flag. They’re almost full strength, haven't needed to quarantine this month, have started beating top 4 sides (Dogs and Geelong) and will field a far stronger line up than the last time we played them (R Gray, Dursma, a fit Butters, etc…)

This might be their achilles heel:  easy wins so may take a while to wind up to high pressure football in a GF.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
