Again, take clearance away from the Bulldogs and they can't win. You beauty.

You've also got to wonder whether injuries to Dunkley and Treloar has lulled them into a false sense of security about their midfield strength. So many of their mids can be exposed going the other way.

Dunkley & Treloar in that side really restrict the output of Smith & Hunter.

I wonder if Dunkley is gettable for us. I'd take him.

Correct my maths a bit wrong, probably don’t want to finish 3rd if we cop port in Adelaide

This does not really help us. if we lose to Geelong and Port beat the dogs we play our first final in SA.  Have to win both games.

I'm not sure, I'd rather Port in Adelaide than coping Geelong at KP (regional crowds in Victoria) for week 1.

I don't really rate Port (I think they are the weakest of the top 4 sides) and we have a good record at Adelaide Oval.

I’m not rude. Hi back right at you!

I meant we don’t sew up top spot if Port win both games and we lose one.

Commentators get a hard woody over the Bont. But Dogs have frozen in the last 2 weeks and the Bont isn’t Superman after all!!!

Western floggers didn’t get the Umps armchair ride this week !!!

Hawks missing about 6 of their top 10 players.   Like the Bombers, Hawks have a good group of youngsters to start to climb backup the ladder.

The odds in this game were mental. Dogs very unsettled going into Launceston and Hawks on a roll. Clarko little mongrel that he is giving Jeff the biggest two finger salute. His treatment appalling and Hawks have put enormous pressure on Mitchell. If they start losing expect supporters to bay for blood. Can only hope.

Interestingly Spirit, Bont was caught with the ball on numerous occasions. Maybe a combo of Bont believing that no tackle against him gets rewarded and umpires reviewing the Bont - love in from last week.

Are Dogs in a form slump?
Can we all agree Clarkson being dumped by Hawthorn is the worst call any club has made this

What year did Neeld come to Melbourne.

Tom Stewart out for the season. Wowee. I don't think Geelong or the Bulldogs can win it this year. He is key to their defensive intercept game. They have to be all out attack now. HUGE!

I could not pick a winner if it was shoved down my throat this year.

Wow, the Bulls kick 5 only.

A bit of pick and choose when to play, or have they got some problems with their structures?

In either case they have plenty to work on. They weren't close or even showed any real fight. It is not a good way to come into a final series.

The game against Port, next week takes on more significance, they need to play well in order to build confidence.

My mfcss is kicking in with the thought of playing port in port town to be beaten and then have to play gws.

Sorry.

Agree. V Dees and V Bombers, Bont was caught and never got penalized.  Today the umps were fair and the Dogs couldn’t shake the Hawks.  If Dogs get umps favouritism they are hard to beat.  Otherwise very beatable!!!

Correct. In that scenario we’d almost prefer to lose both. Although you really don’t want to go into finals losing 2 on the trot.

If I remember correctly the last time we did it we went out in straght sets. I mean being on top and losing the last 2 games of the year. I could be fried or pickled tho.

In the Hawks v Bulldogs game it is interesting from player stats that the top 6 Bulldogs feature top of the stats  The rest mainly feature at the bottom end. This suggests quite a few passengers in the side. Although the top 6 also gat h er cheapies.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
