Yes we are. Less interstate teams in the top 4 and less competition for top 4 is good.

Yuck, there’s just something about St Kilda that I struggle to like.

Their never ending pursuit of failure?

Just like the Melbourne of old.

I really can’t stand Dwayne Russell’s commentary.

He always calls for what he hopes to see and not what’s really happening.
For example you can see as clear as day that a shot for goal is missing by miles and he says, “ it’s coming back it’s coming back , could it could it possibly!

No Dwayne it’s not ?

I have no idea what that’s like barracking for Melbourne.

They’re triggering you. That’s why you hate them.

Port scrape a win against another bottom eight side. Would love to play them again come finals time!

Saints going nowhere. they have Marshall, Steele and King to build on and not much else. Jones Crouch Hill are dud recruits.

The Saints have to be the worst coached and least skilled team in the league. Zero cohesion

5 turnovers in a row. Easy kicks under no pressure. Then the bloke kicks it back in after a behind to 4 port players! Staggering

Saints had all the run.

Quite happy to see Port win.

The in form interstate team is Sydney and they are pretty good at the MCG.  Anything that keeps them out of the top 4 is a good thing.

Port may have just done enough to stop Sydney having a double chance.

Well the official highlights reel will be under 60 seconds, and will require the AFL spin doctor to work overtime to get even that.

You assuredly are not alone.

I'd say most Demon fans are hoping the same thing!

I know I am!

Going two games clear of the Doggies is a very appealing thought.

Dunno, Port are 4 points behind us right now with an easy run home

I definitely wanted the Saints to win

That game reminded me of our game against Brisbane a few years ago. The least worst team won and Pedo had his nose rearranged by sauce Merrett

I'm optimistic enough to think we will stay in the top 4.  If we do I would much rather play Port than Sydney in the first final.

If we don't, well it is a lottery.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.

  • POSTGAME: North Melbourne

The Demons are finally back at the MCG and finally back on the winners list as they continually chipped away at a spirited Kangaroos side eventually breaking their backs and opening the floodgates to run out winners by 6 goals.
