Yes we are. Less interstate teams in the top 4 and less competition for top 4 is good.ย

Yuck, thereโ€™s just something about St Kilda that I struggle to like.

Hill is absolutely woeful. Is he drunk???

Absolutely killed St Kildaโ€™s momentum.ย

Their never ending pursuit of failure?ย

St Kilda had their one good game for the year. Theyโ€™re done for.ย

Just like the Melbourne of old.ย

I really canโ€™t stand Dwayne Russellโ€™s commentary.

He always calls for what he hopes to see and not whatโ€™s really happening.ย
For example you can see as clear as day that a shot for goalย is missing by miles and he says, โ€œ itโ€™s coming back itโ€™s coming back , could it could it possibly!

No Dwayne itโ€™sย not ?

I have no idea what thatโ€™s like barracking for Melbourne.

Theyโ€™reย triggering you. Thatโ€™s why you hate them.ย

Port scrape a win againstย another bottom eightย side. Would love to play them again come finals time!

Saints going nowhere. they have Marshall, Steele and King to build on and not much else. Jones Crouch Hill are dud recruits.ย

ย

gawd, imagine how bad that game would have been if they weren't indoors.....mind boggles

Hopping Saints would win but now GO SUNS!

The Saints have to beย the worst coached and least skilled team in the league. Zero cohesionย

5 turnovers in a row. Easy kicks under no pressure. Then the bloke kicks it back in after a behind to 4 port players! Staggeringย

Saints hadย all the run.ย

Quite happy to see Port win.

The in form interstate team is Sydney and they are pretty good at the MCG.ย  Anything that keeps them out of the top 4 is a good thing.

Port may have just done enough to stop Sydney having a double chance.

Well the official highlights reel will be under 60ย seconds, and will require the AFL spin doctor to work overtime to get even that.ย

You assuredly are not alone.ย

I'd say most Demon fans are hopingย the same thing!

I know I am!

Going two games clear of the Doggies is a very appealing thought.

Dunno, Port are 4 points behind us right now with an easy run home

I definitely wanted the Saints to win

That game reminded me of our game against Brisbane a few years ago. The least worst team won and Pedo had his nose rearranged by sauce Merrett

I'm optimistic enough to think we will stay in the top 4.ย  If we do I would much rather play Port than Sydney in the first final.

If we don't, well it is a lottery.ย

  • PREVIEW: Fremantle

The dominant storyline coming out of Round One for Saturday Nightโ€™s clash at Optus Stadium centres on the influence of the big men. The spotlight naturally falls on two elite ruckmen who, five years ago, shared the stage in Melbourneโ€™s memorable premiership triumph.

  • NON-MFC: Round 02

The compromised AFL fixture will get another test this week with the first lot of teams getting a bye after only two matches. Despite this Round 2 starts off with two cracking games as the Hawks host the Swans at the G on Thursday Night and then on Friday Night the Crows host the Bulldogs at Adelaide Oval. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • THE STATS FILES: St. Kilda

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, weโ€™ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binmanโ€™s Stats Files. Not because it isnโ€™t important; quite the opposite. Itโ€™s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourneโ€™s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last yearโ€™s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although itโ€™s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sundayโ€™s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to foolโ€™s gold.

Never in doubt!!! In Steven Kingโ€™s first game at the helm of the Melbourne Football Club, the Dees outlasted Saints in a wild, momentum-swinging thriller at the MCG, running out 13-point winners.
