Assuming we finish third and Geelong finish second, would that mean a final at Kardinia Park or still at the MCG?

85-90000 people and the money it brings is the answer.

Could potentially play cats 2 weeks in a row

And again in the Granny. Potentially 3 times in the space of a month

Would love to just tease them slowly over 3 games and smash them when they thought they were a chance

I, for one, I’m going against all history and saying that I am really looking forward to the last week of the season. I truly believe we will beat them. May owes Hawkins and will close him right down, Cameron is iffy at best, and I think it will all be sweet indeed

How awesome is it that at this stage of the year we already KNOW we are playing finals!

Moreover, looking at potentially being in the top two!

Usually we don’t know until the end of round 23. And even then it would depend on Team A beating Team B and Team C losing to Team D but only if it’s a 10+ goal loss. AND there has to be a blood moon AND a partial eclipse of the sun AND Halley’s Comet has to be visible AND all the stars and planets must be aligned etc. for us to make the eight.

AFL site still showing tickets available for Richmond v Collingwood this afternoon.

Amazing drop in crowds even considering the form of the two clubs.

I’m sure the GWS players are enjoying the opportunity to play in front of a bigger crowd compared to a normal home game at Blacktown

I know it's kind of meaningless in the grand scheme of our season, but part of me would quite like to see the Swans knock the Bulldogs off today, so that I can bask in us sitting on top of the ladder again.

not meaningless at all.

home ground means we don't have to wear white shorts ?

And of course Brisbane can still end up 1 or 2 ?

PS and Hibbo will completely shut Rohan down

Its always a very tough ask at their fortress.

But we have done it before so heres hoping and lets hope we have a repeat of last time finals against them if we meet.

GWS currently looking to screw up their own season

Jim, yeah I forgot about that and I agree it's pretty important.  Two grand finals we have played in my lifetime I'm guessing we would have worn white shorts and lost both.

It was more being on top of the ladder in Rd 17 that is ultimately pretty meaningless that I was referring to.  But meh, I don't care.  After all the years of putrid, frustrating and/or mediocre seasons we have had, just being on top of the ladder at the end of the round gives me a few warm fuzzies inside, so I'll take that for now.

One of the several clubs contending for the MFC's previous monopoly on that feat.

Although the Suns are now choking it up. I was trying to decide whether the club should consider targeting  Izak Rankine. I think I've decided. He can't possibly be fair dinkum.

It’s funny watching Hogan; he’s clearly such a natural footballer

I wonder if, like the wizard, he regrets his decision to leave the Dees

I did a bit at the time, but given we essentially  got Maysy in return and the way Hogans career subsequently went south, I almost couldn't be happier that Jessie went back to WA.

The only better scenario that possibly could have eventuated was if we'd have picked up Steve May a season later as a FA and Jessie had pulled himself together a bit more and somehow gotten over his injuries better.

But in hindsight those list management changes we made at the end of 2018 will go down as a master class in football department decision making.

4.1 kicked to the left of screen, 12.13 to the right so far at Mars for those playing along.

Just switched on the current game and am surprised at how much of a crowd there is. The twelve Suns nuffies behind the goals are even making a bit of a racket.

Thank you, Suns!

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
