Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

The expectations on BB are pretty unrealistic if you ask me

The guy hasn't really done enough to genuinely deserve a call up (no idea if he's been training the house down) but his Casey form has been so so IMHO

Am I against giving him a chance - not really because at the very least he may attract their best defender. However anyone expecting him to have a big influence on the result and kick more than 1 or 2 goals is being very very optimistic / unrealistic

I agree with this, I'll be chuffed if he presents well, clunks a few and kicks 1 or 2.

Our biggest losing margin was 17, so if he kicks 1 or 2 (being deliveries that presumably would have sailed over the heads of some of the shorter guys), we are already pretty much there - all we need is more consistent 4 qtr intensity, and the other guys to convert.

Something else people don't realise is, Ben Brown is a 100% game time player. He was down in game time in his first 3 games, despite managing 5 goals and an assist. Clearly wasn't fully right.

He saves rotations and keeps the mids fresh. He'll kick at least 5 goals, and we'll run over the top of them big time in the last quarter.

Big Bad Bustling Beautiful Ben Brown is BACK!

I actually agree. Five would be highly unlikely.

What I am hoping for is that rather than the oppo defence dancing the ball out so easily., bbb will take tge odd big grab or bring it to ground for our smalls. I also hope that unlike the last two games Fritta and Tmac will have less pressure on them, enabling them to impact the scoreboard more.

But, you never know what a proven star( and he is a star) can do, fit or unfit , in form or out of. He is certainly a smokey and woe the oppo team thay doesnt see him as a threat.

His height alone,   the way we have been bombing it fwd for someone like Spargo to take a mark, makes me sigh with relief.

And that having said, if by chance he does boot five, then our season certainly looks more promising.

Either way, his inclusion is an improvement on last weeks fwd line and the week before.

Things to do this game

1 - Max ruck 80% of the game, he is the best ruckman in the league.  Jackson will get there but it's time for Max to take his position back

2 - do away with the Hollywood handballs that have crept back in

3 - look for a leading fwd, if it's not on kick in the air to BB advantage, allow him to bring it to ground.

4 - get back over the mark, been a few kicks touched which has ruined a passage of play

5 - Trac kick to advantage don't try pin point,  love everything he does but the past few weeks he has looked to bullet passes in rather than lay them out in front. Could be due to no talls in the fwd line

Yes, Max is .... but we seem to get a lot more clearances when LJ is rucking.

Yep this is the 10 goal Reel.  Draws plenty of frees which for us is super rare up forward.  Every extra goal counts whether the free is there or it isn't.

Check the last goal.  Would love to see Tracc break from the center and kick to BB's favoured side like Higgins here.  And others...Clarry, Harmes, Viney!...

When you start hitting a KF up like this on a regular basis it also frees up our other forwards when their player peels off to double team etc. Throws the whole opposition defence out and puts doubt in their mind.  We are way too predictable and easy to defend without a KF target playing deep and doubling back on transition as BB tends to read and do so well here.  He knows when to hold his Depth.

Will also mean Macca gets the opp's 2nd best tall which might help him out as well.

I must say I was a bit surprised to see him getting a few crumbing goals - always seemed to me to be a mark / free and set shot sort of forward.

Good luck to him - and the final scoreline (in our favour) from that night would be more than handy.   Port looked (only saw the BB highlights) to be very dispirited.  (Where were the two teams on the ladder at that time?)

Need kozzzy to ignite.  He’s one of our key scoring options and we will need him v power to kick 3-4 goals imv.

It’s nice when a plan comes together.  He needs a double shot of “just go for it”.  When he goes,he’s dynamic.
Kozzzzzzy magic !!!!!!!!!!

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
