OUT MELKSHAM, HARMES, WEIDEMAN

IN LANGDON, VINEY, B. BROWN

A really good fit for Collingwood, that's my take on Weideman.

His hands are poor and his kicking skills at goal are very poor. Season 2021 so far, 4 matches, 3 goals 4 behinds, says it all.

There is no lockdown role for Harmes this week, so for team balance he goes for Viney.

Melksham is simply omitted due to his lack of defensive acts.

Sparrow stays due to his work ethic and upside.

Both Harmes and Weideman will stay in and Viney is not ready yet.

I've got a sneaky feeling Weid will explode this Monday in his audition for his new side.

If Goody's feeling all matey this week:

IN - Langdon

Out - Sparrow

If Goody has any integrity of selection:

In - Langdon

Out - Melksham

I swear Milkshake has photos of Goodwin, he never gets dropped. Hopefully he makes the right choice this week and drops him. Goody said a few weeks ago in a team meeting that the boys on our list who are playing in the vfl can always continue to learn and press for their spot, yet there are half a dozen blokes playing better than Melk yet can't get a game...

What a load of complete rubbish.  Give the bloke some credit FFS.

Excellent

I’d expect Benny Brown is named as an emergency given TMac’s second child is due next week - and he’s already said he’d come home if the baby comes early.

Be interesting to see if Mitch Brown is named instead though. Might be a good indicator of where Ben is in the current pecking order.

Still nervous about Salem too.

No change. team needs to focus. collingwood has lost their coach so that may spark the player up, we need to beat them and beat them soundly. Now is not to time to relax or go in thinking we have this won.

Not to mention, Melksham was dropped, and was replaced by Chandler ... who had about 4 touches.

Only like-for like player for that position would be Jones, but presumably Langdon for Melksham and either Sparrow or Petracca push up into the high-half forward role.

M Brown was an emergency last week but B Brown wasn't.

With no VFL game since then, will be interesting to see if that changes.

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.
