Just heard on the news tonight’s game has been delayed because Richmond are stuck in traffic!

The game is now scheduled to begin at 8:05pm.
What a crazy season!

AFL grand final likely to be moved according to Tom Morris's opinion piece. I actually agree with his points.

A special thanks to the NSW  removalists and the returning family that had to duck into Coles to pickup that all important bottle of dishwashing liquid.

Interesting...... I think it will still be at the G.  QLD and in particular WA are happy for a snap lock down too.

The curse of Mrs Hardwick continues.

I live in regional Vic. Stuck in Traffic? Seriously? As in we can't travel more than 5km?, so how is this possible as a reason?

Or am I out of touch with how Melbourne traffic operates?

Is there something else afoot? Something being kept away from public view?

20 minute delay??? 20 minutes briefing?

Half time announcement?

tin foil hat???

Indeed I was... here I was being all Vic-centric assuming the game was at the 'G'.

Maybe they should make the Grand final available only to double vaccinated people. In a completely unrelated note I’m so glad the UK provided me with my second jab a few weeks ago ?.

There's no way they would risk having it in WA when their Premier announces no crowds at AFL games literally an hour before a game is about to start because of 1 case in the entire State. Madness

Dan Andrews quickly shut that idea down.

Thats completely unfair on the under 40 cohort who want a vaccine but can’t get one, as opposed to overseas where supply exceeds demand in some countries.

From a purely case number point of view, this has a two week lockdown written all over it as per our last May lockdown.

I don’t expect our next MCG game to be in front of crowds until round 22 against Adelaide.

Hope Im wrong.

You’re probably right. The difference this time however is that all cases are linked so far. We started lockdown 4.0 with mystery cases and we never found the index case.
The exposure site list is crazy this time and spreads all over the state, but if all cases are linked and remain so it’s a lot easier to lock it down with minimal further community exposure.

and we don’t play last round down at Mordor.

And so what is fair in this pandemic?

What an awful attitude.  I can't go because the under 40's can't go.  Would you rather the GF be played in front of an empty stadium?  I'm old, I haven't seen a flag since the under 40's were born who, with good health, have 40 to 50 years to go.

And you want to stop me going if I'm vacinated.

Thanks.

With 19 cases today hard to see this being lifted on Tuesday.

Will go the rest of next week at least is my guess.

What a mess.

19 cases is a big jump. All linked so far so hopefully they've all stayed in isolation per the rules. No chance this lockdown ends on tuesday. 2 week minimum i reckon.

I think the argument is you will be going but with our ‘elimination strategy’ you will be going with the unvaccinated after we have had few to no cases.

The step of incentivising people by saying - you have to be vaccinated to attend events is one I support but supply has to catch up to demand for that.

As I said, Dan Andrews rubbished the idea yesterday that under 40's would miss out on attending if unvaccinated. He was clear in his opinion that the under 40's shouldn't be penalised for a vaccine supply shortage in this country. Andrews stated that it would be a different scenario if the vaccine was available and people chose not to be vaccinated. Those people would and should be precluded from attending.

I couldn't care less if you think I have an awful attitude. My personal dream/goal/ambition is to see a premiership live at the MCG. Not in the loungeroom.

I have no interest in handing over my priority access GF ticket to someone else because I'm ineligible to get the appropriate vaccine.

I'm in my very very late 30's and currently ineligible for the Pfizer vaccine. I have been attending weekly games since the late 80's and went to every single game in the horrid Neeld era when we were getting 12,000 to some games. I have just as much right to see my club play in a grand final than any other loyal MFC members regardless of age, and would be bitterly upset if I was told I can't go for a reason out of my control despite having priority access to GF tickets.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
