Moving Baker forward is proving a smart move. Castagna unsighted the last two weeks

I want the Dogs beaten so we can have a shot at top spot.

Pretty straight forward I would’ve thought.

On the other hand I don’t like seeing the Tiges win and the more games we put between ourselves and them the better I will feel. They’re not in form at the moment but they are liable to click and put a run of games together which could be enough to make Top 4. I’d prefer if they finished in the lower half of the 8. I'd prefer not to face them at all in September.

This lot has played Norf and Sun gods, soft kills no wonder the have the best attack and defence.

Hate the Tigers but loving this.

Note : Some gambling and footy tipping may be at stake.

Go Tiges!

First time this season doggies have been really challenged. Let's see how they respond

What did you think of our 56K odd last week?

Better than the 52,000 tonight.

It’s Richmond’s home game and they have 100,000 members apparently.

It’s a Friday night.

Perfect weather in Melbourne all day.

Playing against the undefeated Bulldogs.

The tigers are getting a decent run from the umpires

Makes up for the first half, though I do hate when that happens.

Very lenient on incorrect disposal tonight I've noticed.

Do you mean when a play has or has not had prior opportunity.

Remember, when a player has not had prior opportunity they only need to attempt to dispose of the ball.

Remmeber, when a player has not had prior opportunity they only need to attempt to dispose of the ball.

I'll take more notice, but instances that would have been a free last year or even last week seem, in my mind anyway, to be play on tonight.  Could be imagining things.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.

The Demons are finally back at the MCG and finally back on the winners list as they continually chipped away at a spirited Kangaroos side eventually breaking their backs and opening the floodgates to run out winners by 6 goals.
