So one less tackler? That leaves Kozzie, ANB and Viney for stints forward, with moments from Jordon. Sorry, not enough. Not many of our guys have Spargo's nous either.

What exactly has he done wrong to warrant being dropped? He averages the same amount of tackles as Kozzie (3.6) and is 6th at Melbourne for score involvements (5.6) behind Petracca, Oliver, Kozzie, McDonald and Gawn (he'd be behind Fritsch if he'd played all games too).

Kossie ANB and Viney are enough. Who would you drop? As I said 23 can't fit into 22.

If Fritsch comes in, Melksham goes out. I'm not convinced both can play in the same team. Particularly, not a team that bases its game on forward half pressure. And Fritsch gets it more and has improved his defensive game.

Jones was horrendous and must not be gifted a game next week. I dont care if its his 17th game or his 300th.

In  -  Weideman, B Brown, Bedford

Out  -  M Brown, Jones, ANB

Wowsers..

and the dropping jones stinker wasn’t his worst either! He’s been ordinary for mine but LW was excellent.. as for NIBBLER...

You’re a spud, enough said (only in jest).

NIBBLER is Essential To the current system.

Spot on.

We only had two inside 50 tackles at half time last week.

If that is the half time stat against the tigers it is game well and truly over.

Tmac's pressure has been first class this year. But he's pretty slow and besides operates mainly up field.

Weed worries me. His pressure last year was rubbish. As was melkshams.

Melksham's pressure was just ok against the hawks. But still not where it needs to be.

Weed and Melksham in the same side is a concern in terms of forward half pressure.

This is where we either win or lose the game assuming we improve our accuracy at goal

Thanks for saying this.

His skills are great but he needs to bring more passion.

I dont think they will risk Fritta but its the way it will have to go down.

For Info I Road past Gosch’s this morning (9.00 am) and they are setting up for a Captains Run session. If anyone can get there to report.

He’s done nothing to get dropped. There’s just an unfortunate reluctance around these parts to get on the Spargo train. I for one boarded a while back. I can see him becoming our Caleb Daniel (who at 24, has three years on our Charlie).

Melksham on notice, has to bring pressure this week and lock it in, in the wet.

He doesn't have what it takes to apply pressure. A willingness to pressure is only part of the equation. If you don't have lateral agility, speed and most importantly, the ability to read the play, you simply can't be that player.

If Melksham is the only medium forward with one or two talls, that's fine. However, with Fritsch playing that role and the possibility of more than two talls in the future, his position simply can't be justified.

As others have said, two pressure smalls is not going to get the job done.

Yep. Only 2.
richmond very good defensively, especially running from their defensive 50.
so not optimal to bring in people who have played less than 2 games in prep and also under the heat of that game.
also the current forward structure has worked well (except accuracy).
have a feeling brown or weed in next week and/or when injuries or poor form warrant it.

Makes sense to keep changes to a minimum for a pivotal game like this.

I had the Weid coming in for M Brown on the back of his 7 goals but also because I thought Fritsch wouldn't be fit. Fritsch has the runs on the board and improved his defensive work this year so i'm delighted he's able to play

You seem pretty sure of yourself. Will keep this in mind when the teams are announced. My opinion is the weed will play and Fritsch won't.

I totally agree, I can't stand Melksham and he wouldn't be listed if I picked the side.

But I have come to terms with him being goodies love child, so just gotta hope he has a bad enough game to get dropped without loosing us a game.

But I do believe players should get 3 games to prove if they deserve their spot or not, so that's why I say he is on notice.

One of Weid or Brown will be playing.

Sounds like May likely and Fritsch unlikely from reports.

Bummer if so as I was hoping Fritta for Melksham. Gives you a proper third tall/marking option, better pressure and more shots on goal.

I thought the club didnt leak these days.  Sure hope the info is wrong.

It's hardly ''leaking''.

For decades Saturday teams were released on Thursdays.

We bloody well should know by now anyway.
