3 things that will win us the game:

- tidy up our kicking

- up our tackling tempo in the forward 50

- take our chances on goal

The old premiership quarter here, let’s get early goals on the board and start to get the game on our terms.

Correct. Kicking has been shizzzzzen. Tackling PATHETIC. Had 33 inside 50s. 4 goals. Shades of 2019.

FFS umpire. How long did he have it

Why are the umpires shouting stand but the hawks players allowed to continue moving back?

I know you have the option but they aren’t quick enough at removing themselves from the protected area.

Brown looks like he's stepped out of one of those early 2010's sides. Just nowhere near it.

Petracca goals but looks distracted today.

Ed Langdon is just a gem. Carrying us so well today when a lot of others aren't quite wanting to work hard enough. He'll never stop working. Might need to change my avatar soon.

And take Matthews with you. “Limited prior” my [censored]. Mitchell had enough time to stop for a cup of tea.

Do something Brown.. anything

Absolute witches hat.

Can we lay a tackle inside 50 ?

Ive seen three not paid to us where the player just drops it. Max does exact same - paid. That’s the umpiring differentials you get in the stats sheet

Nought are 2 goals up on Jeelong

it’s a tight season

We just need to grind out a win

The Demons return to town fresh off a thumping win over the back-to-back wooden spooners, the West Coast Eagles, played in front of a sparse crowd at Marvel Stadium, the same venue that hosted last week's heartbreaking loss.

  • PREVIEW: West Coast

It was bad enough that the Melbourne Football Club created yet another humiliating scenario inside its wretched season at Marvel Stadium last Sunday, but the final insult is that it has been commanded to return to the scene of the crime to inflict further punishment on its fans this week. Incidentally, if this match preview, of a game that promises to be one of the most unattractive fixtures in the history of the game, happens to cut out of your computer screen three quarters of the way through, it’s no coincidence. I’ll be mirroring the Demons’ lacklustre effort against St Kilda from last Sunday when they conceded the largest last quarter turnaround for victory in the history of the game.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.
