Goodwin can be criticised for a few things but having a crack at him for not barracking while he coaches, is a bit unfair.

Good comment. Was sitting near the interchange bench on Saturday, Goodwin was up and about encouraging players as they came off for interchange. Especially spent time with Oliver. Saints are media love child, of course they are going to highlight Ratten.

I think Viney will come in, if he played 4 quarters then they probably wanted to get some minutes into him before he came back. Hibberd would be the only other player I'd consider bringing in but the question would be for who?

If Viney comes back in then Sparrow would probably be my pick to come out.

Hibberd's a bit trickier, I thought Rivers had a poor game but I'd hesitate to drop him so quickly as I really think he is a gem, he just needs a little time. Hunt was disappointing but similarly I'd like to see him given another chance. With the backline functioning well on the weekend, force Hibberd to demand a spot with a dominant performance.

IN Viney
OUT Sparrow

Players who aren’t getting dropped this week no matter how much you dislike them: ANB, Spargo, Jetta.

Yep. I reckon Spargo is going to make a few around here eat their words.

He does more with 5-10 possessions, than many can do with 40 possessions.

It seems to be the same people complaining 'they bomb it in/don't lower their eyes', that dislike Spargo who seemingly never misses a target going inside 50.

Not sure about 40, but yes I agree. In a team of butchers he is a surgeon.

Well perhaps a surely is also an exaggeration but you get my point.

We can't beat St. Kilda kicking 10 goals.   yet we have someone at VFL level who is kicking multiple goals.  Our forward line would not be any worse if we take a punt on Daw.  Fritsch is the only other consistent multiple goal scorer.  TMac can go to the wing and still impact the scoreboard.  Spargo and Jones both played well but spargo doesn't add to scoring unless inside 20 metres.  One of them has to go, as Jxn and Picket are safe.

Viney should help with the clearance problems.  We need the same number of midfield players as St. Kilda also have an abundance.  Harmes fumbled a bit, missed tackles and ran out of legs.  I like him but he's the obvious one to miss out.

You wouldn't touch the cohesion of the backline

Sparrow and hunt for Viney and hibberd. If Daw performed well again I’d also look at bring him in for Jackson

Why Jackson ???
He needs footy at the top level. Wasn't his greatest game till last quarter but wow 3/4 goals could have been.

Your posting name  unfortunately reflects your opinion.

Well he had done virtually nothing until the pressure was off and the game was won, also got badly beaten when he went to help in the ruck. We need to win next week more than we need to put games into a developing player

We’re def in trouble if milkshake and Hibba are the answers. We really have got a chronic depth problem. Another year of shuffling the deck chairs.

Will be solved by youth Petty Bowey Chandler Bedford And Viney Brown Weid and Maybe  Joel Smith Daw and   Deakin Smith.

Some others in the team now can also improve fitness and form.

Would’ve really liked to have played ‘aints when Brown/Weid were back. You can stretch them down back.

Rather play anyone with Brown and Weid in tbh. Going to make a massive difference. Especially if Tmac keeps his form aswell ?. Something to look forward too. I can't wait!

Not enough to change course fir a 29 yo in his 8th game fir a 30yo who is not quite fit enough yet also.

No, I think it is funny that so many here want to pick a forward who can't kick goals and still expect the team to win. We could cover it against Freo but it won't work against the saints. Let Jackson learn where the goals are at Casey. Jackson does not fill any particular needs now and I doubt he will be a match winner for years. How many years was Max at Casey before he was a regular? If we can get something good for Jackson we should move him on.

Give up MD he has played 7 games !!

Every AFL youngster has to learn and Jacko is a quick learner. We gavecTrac time Clarry was great from Day1 but look at Kossie he is developing nicely as well as Riv. Jordan has had 2 years in the system and now is on his way with a promising debut.

All in the world is not immediate and I cannot understand your lack of patience and understanding of LJ and his ability and potential. He is a one in a generation style player we are very lucky to have him to develop.
Tommy MAC was given 50 games plus to develop also BTW.so work needs to be put into development of our recruits something I think we are now much better than a decade ago.

Melksham was down last season but he was 1st in the AFL for Goal Assists in both 2018 and 2019.

He comes straight back into them team for mine and anyone writing him off will be in for a surprise.

Agree with Flash ITP

zjake dies not deserve his place after 2019/20 and the figures are mediucre at least for ac25yo plus forward.

A young fit Chandler will bring more skill and pace with Kossie and Spargs.

Really surprised so many are picking Melksham in the team.  He has done little in the last 2 years, does not tackle, does not work hard enough, has had no preseason games/form....GET HIM IN.

I am presuming those selecting Melksham really want Goodwin to lose his job.

Melksham needs to be absolutely banging the door down with form in the reserves.  He is so far from an automatic inclusion i really wonder about some of our supporters sanity thinking he is even in the conversation for a place in the team.

Agree been saying it since preseason started 2 years without any firm,

Dime heroes of 2018 have nbeen a problem with form ever since snd we need to

mive on fir the team to change and develop for the near future and longer as well.

Spargo had a goal, 3 goal assists and 5 score involvements. (Also had 5 tackles btw)

Bizarre comment.

Shoosh yourself. If Jackson plays as well as he usually does we will lose. If Jetta is best available, pick him he did nothing wrong. Would others be more help was my question? You are a very insecure blind faith fan and don't seem to know much about the game. Jackson is worth more to us as a trade, there is no room for a forward that can't kick goals. I have never thought Baker was best 22 but he does have pace that others are lacking. This is what we will need to beat the Saints. Daw may be a spud but he has kicked a lot more goals and had more marks than Jackson has this year.

He is a 19 year old kid FFS. Still growing and finding his feet in AFL football. If you cannot see the potential talent there, it’s you who doesn’t understand the development side of the game.

You do know that practice matches don’t count don’t you?

Only change I can see this week is Viney in for Jones barring an unexpected injury.

But as people said Viney, Hibbo and Melksham are all underdone and may need another full game in the VFL before being picked.

"Iffy" is generous. (Just a detail.)

Three goal assists v freo as well as his single goal makes four snags last week.

And I speak as one of his critics.
