For those still playing at home, a GWS loss is a big thing for any sliver of a finals chance we still have.

If we beat them next week we'll be near-guaranteed to finish above them (subject to percentage).

If they then beat St Kilda in the final round, and St Kilda lose to West Coast, all three of us (i.e. St Kilda, GWS and us) will finish on 9 wins.

If our percentage catches St Kilda's and stays in front of GWS', we then play finals (doesn't matter what Collingwood and the Dogs do from there).

Yes that's all far-fetched. About as far-fetched as GWS losing to Adelaide.

perhaps more likely is the dogs to lose to Freo in the last round - if we win our 2 last games we'll get in 8th assuming no big jumps in %

This is where I am at too, I think.

Now I am just going to get hopes built up again, for no logical reason

And I'm the big [censored] that just bought 3 tickets to Saturdays game now.... Completely contradicting my post about not watching this team while goody is in charge...

How Leon Cameron got a 2 year extension I'll never know.

He is driving the Ferrari like its a '96 Hyundai hatchback. Aside from last year, they have been poor given they have the most talent in the comp

I agree DubDee, I've always thought he has massively underperformed for the list he had.

Gws are gone. So where is their media pile on about softness , everything on the line failure etc.

Won't happen.

Dees knock them off next week will be part redemption for me.

Despite all logic, I'm excited about the GWS game on Sat now and I think we are a chance.

someone send the men in white coats to my place - I've clearly gone mad

He is a crap coach always has been.  A monkey could have taken that team to the top 4.   Not winning a flag is a huge fail.

You’ve got to laugh. I feel like we’re Peter Seller’s character in The Party who takes an eternity to die, bugle in hand

Dogs still on the Box seat with 2 easy games to play.

Freo are no easy beats.  They are almost unbeatable in Cairns  ?

I just had a full swing of mood. The optimism is back, at least until Saturday. We probably win on Saturday and then put in a stinker against the Dons, but there’s still a chance. Thanks Croweaters

Easy is how you would have described gws vs crows 2 hours ago.

Our big hope is freo knocking off dogs. They have A graders and an impressive young coach in Longmuir

I also wouldn't dismiss the Hawks either... they are due for a win. Had a shocking loss to Adelaide, but nearly beat Saints, Essendon, and Port. Their last win was in Round 9 against Carlton. Could be another upset looming!

Supporting this club requires a total lack of logic.

Go Dees.......somehow

I am reading a lot of delusional nonsense on this thread. We do not deserve to play finals and nor are we a chance. Don't rely on others to do the dirty washing.

You mean deelusional?

Sydney are a young developing team.  I trust them.  They've lost plenty of games, but they're honest.  You know what you're going to get (virtually) every week.

I respect them and their coach.

  • NON-MFC: Round 07

Round 7 gets underway in iconic fashion with the traditional ANZAC Day blockbuster. The high-flying Magpies will be looking to solidify their spot atop the ladder, while the Bombers are desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top eight. Later that evening, Fremantle will be out to redeem themselves after a disappointing loss to the Demons, facing a hungry Adelaide side with eyes firmly set on breaking into the top four. Saturday serves up a triple-header of footy action. The Lions will be looking to consolidate their Top 2 spot as they head to Marvel Stadium to clash with the Saints. Over in Adelaide, Port Adelaide will be strong favourites at home against a struggling North Melbourne. The day wraps up with a fiery encounter in Canberra, where the Giants and Bulldogs renew their bitter rivalry. Sunday’s schedule kicks off with the Suns aiming to bounce back from their shock defeat to Richmond, taking on the out of form Swans. Then the Blues will be out to claim a major scalp when they battle the Cats at the MCG. The round finishes with a less-than-thrilling affair between Hawthorn and West Coast at Marvel. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.

  • PREGAME: Richmond

The Dees are back at the MCG on Thursday for the annual blockbuster ANZAC Eve game against the Tigers. Can the Demons win back to back games for the first time since Rounds 17 & 18 last season? Who comes in and who goes out?
