Good on her for speaking up for Mitch and understanding it is job and livelihood that someone at Richmond fc has lent on the AFL to take from him, idenfinitely.

Big Mitch Cleary got his job back.

Hooray!!

AFL spin

“The AFL has today concluded an internal matter regarding a member of the AFL Media team, Mitch Cleary...according to the league Cleary “has acknowledged it was a mistake” to post the photo, and he has now returned to work".

They could have delayed standing him down until after the review, a mere 24 hours and saved Mitch a lot of grief.

So Mitch was stood down for one day whilst a simple investigation was being conducted? He is the only one that comes out of this not looking like an imbecile. The Cotchin’s are self-entitled bogans and the AFL are pathetic.

Bit much going on in the world right now to go around smashing people with personal insults on the internet isn't there?

Some people did the wrong thing, all of them have owned it and are paying the penalty. It's a difficult time as it is, we don't need to be so harsh to people we don't know.

Cleary actually broke an AFL Media protocol of not reporting the names of family members who break protocol.

Perhaps a bit less speedy with the insults and outrage until all the facts come out.

Even then, not sure why the insults are necessary tbh.

How was this not in breach of covid rules. The start date for community contact sport was never reached I thought.

https://www.afl.com.au/news/480707/-this-was-an-oversight-powerful-player-agent-fined-for-draft-camp-breach

"POWERFUL player agent Paul Connors has been sanctioned for running a camp for prospective players against draft rules.

The AFL Players Association Agent Accreditation Board slapped Connors with a $7500 fine ($5000 suspended) on Tuesday night.

As reported by AFL.com.au, more than 20 players eligible for the 2020 and 2021 NAB AFL Drafts completed a two-day camp in Sorrento during the school holidays last month."

Not breaches as such but some players seem to be getting a bit 'high and mighty' and Richmond seem to be the main culprits.  league-fed-up-infuriated-richmond-demands

"The AFL has become increasingly frustrated at Richmond players for some weird, wacky requests and bills that have been sent to league HQ.  Other clubs are aware of the AFL’s frustrations in Queensland as the league does its best to keep the season running.  One high-ranking club official said: “The AFL is off them massively. Self-entitlement is huge.”

It was a Richmond person who inquired about bringing a puppy to Queensland, which prompted the AFL to issue a strict edict last month to clubs telling them this is no holiday.  It’s also understood at least a few Tigers players asked the AFL to reimburse them for Coles online orders too".

Entitlement indeed!

Unsure if this applies is Richmond but it beggars belief that people would do this:  "Nine journalist Sam McClure on Wednesday said the AFL was “fed up” after some players had put in requests for carpenters to alter apartments..."

Come back to Victoria folks for a dose of reality.

Yep. But I'm talking about how AFL Media already had a protocol in place about not naming people but then Cleary did it. I'm not saying it's 100% clear cut, given it was on his twitter and already public as you mentioned, but he did still do the wrong thing which he has since admitted.

2024 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence. The move of “Disco” to a key forward post looks like bearing fruit. Turner has good hands, moves well and appears to be learning the forward craft well. Will be an interesting watch in 2025. Lack of preparation after a problematic preseason prevented Oliver from reaching the high standards set before last year’s hamstring woes. He carried injury right through the back half of the season and was controversially involved in a potential move during the trade period that was ultimately shut down by the club. BLOODY BLUES by Meggs

The conclusion to Narrm’s home and away season was the inevitable let down by the bloody Blues  who meekly capitulated to the Bombers.   The 2024 season fixture handicapped the Demons chances from the get-go with Port Adelaide, Brisbane and Essendon advantaged with enough gimme games to ensure a tough road to the finals, especially after a slew of early season injuries to star players cost wins and percentage.     As we strode confidently through the gates of Prin

At the time, he was on his way to many personal honours and the club in strong finals contention. When the season did end for Melbourne and Petracca was slowly recovering, he was engulfed in controversy about a possible move of clubs amid claims about his treatment by the club in the immediate aftermath of his injury.
