That's 8 changes shows how far we are from the rest of the pack.

I don't want to drop TMac until we've seen how he goes with proper support.

At least one of Melksham, vandenBerg and Hunt has to go, preferably two. At least one of Weideman and Brown has to come in. Bennell, Jones and ANB could also get a gig.

I think one of Rivers and Lockhart has to go as well, I don't think we can carry both. Maybe opens a spot up for Jetta to return.

But even with these key changes, we won't improve until our midfield improves its kicking and decision-making and our forwards lead into space, hold marks, create opportunities, and work better together.

I'd bring in Jetta and Weideman for Rivers & Vandenberg.

Melksham is lucky because he at least hit the scoreboard and we really don't have many other options.

During the off season I said I wanted Dan Butler and I think we missed a golden opportunity to inject additional leg speed.

I really feel our coaches and recruiting team overrate our existing players.

Oh and Bennell is a must have, likely for Hunt.

In Bennell and the weed.

Out. Who gives a f5&^

Lever the first one out make a statement.

Musical chairs (?) Pin the tail on the donkey(?) Whatever!

No point playing Brown, our season is cooked so its about getting games into the future.

In Jackson, Weiderman, Bennell, Bedford

Out Melksham, Hunt, AVB, Brayshaw

ANB kicked two goals vs Carlton but got dropped because the rest of his game was poor.

The same standards should be applied to Melksham.

Inject some midfield class in Jordon and Sparrow as well

That would help but it might be beyomd the realms of possibility for such a stupid side.

This the wrong attitude. It's about putting the best team on the park every week and trying to win. That's the best form of development for any footy club, let alone ours.

In: Bennel, Jones, Weidemen

Out:  Melksham, Hunt, Smith

Goodwin spoke of starting to get continuity with the side through the week, but there are plenty who are straight away on the block, and some other bigger names who are not giving us anything, so there just has to be changes.

Jetta in for Lockhart - I like Lockhart, but has struggled the last 2 weeks, and Jetta is ready to come in
Jackson in for Melksham - Jake has frustrated me no end the last 2 weeks, so has to go, and we need another tall
Bennell in for VDB - if we have an injury plagued player being managed through games, we desperately need Bennell's class over VDB
ANB in for Hunt - bit of a deck chairs change, but Hunt has given nothing the last 2 weeks
OMac in for Smith - can't believe I'm saying this, but maybe this frees up Lever to play the role we need him to

If Brown is in our best team we are stuffed.  Jones and Jetta yep for sure they will make us better.  Jones comes in for Viney, jetta for Rivers.  But i would like to see Jackson Weiderman, Bedford and Bennell as well.  Some height speed and skill

The problem with that is we played our best team and got flogged. Time to look at the future that's all we do at Melbourne. We have an overrated list and a terrible coach.

I don't think we played our best team at all. Our best team doesn't involve Tom McDonald as a sole key forward, or playing Jake Lever as a second tall back when he should be a third tall. Harley Bennell is in our best team. There are changes that need to be made and I don't think it should involve throwing first year players into such a poorly drilled team or before form warrants it.

The Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, falling to 0–4 after a more spirited showing against the Cats at Kardinia Park. Despite the improved effort, they went down by 39 points, and the road ahead is looking increasingly grim.

  • PREVIEW: Geelong

"It's officially time for some alarm bells. I'm concerned about the lack of impact from their best players." This comment about one of the teams contesting this Friday night’s game came earlier in the week from a so-called expert radio commentator by the name of Kane Cornes. He wasn’t referring to the Melbourne Football Club but rather, this week’s home side, Geelong. The Cats are purring along with 1 win and 2 defeats and a percentage of 126.2 (courtesy of a big win at GMHBA Stadium in Round 1 vs Fremantle) which is one win more than Melbourne and double the percentage so I guess that, in the case of the Demons, its not just alarm bells, but distress signals. But don’t rely on me. Listen to Cornes who said this week about Melbourne:- “They can’t run. If you can’t run at speed and get out of the contest then you’re in trouble.
