Unfortunately guys the real issues with players like Clarry, Brayshaw even Viney is they came to the MFC with no gun mids to learn from trying their butts off but when the going gets tough you need a Selwood, Pendelbury type to lead his troops and pave the way. As a life long member this is the worst I've ever felt about the Dees, just when we have a heap of talent that should be the envy of the comp we find ways to stuff it up. I just want one off these guys to become a top 3 player in the comp for once...

And leadership i think was missing.   I reckon chunk might have settled them down some what out there.

And if Lewis was still out there,  he would have calmed them down,  and got them focused in the middle.

What is happening now with the runners.?

So we pick on a two time B&F and All Australian whos form

Pick on.  You have a strange way of words about a footy game and the players of that game pf.

No one is picking on Oli, but he has stopped progressing his individual game.

It's time he got on top of his skill issues, and stepped up.

His lack of development is an enditment on all of our coaches, and we have enough of them.

Needs to stick his tackles, run harder, stop stepping back into traffic, start absorbing tackles with forward momentum and hit a target by foot.

It’s also an indictment.

Agree but Somethings not right!

I think he might be the sort of guy who needs the truth from someone he respects. His disposal is a massive defect currently but he also gets a lot of balls without much choice but to quickly get rid of it. Need an expert to fix that one.  Its like his reflexes get him to a lot of balls others would not but it puts him under pressure. Maybe the game has changed but we need an old fashioned rover to Max. Maybe kozzie as he matures.

Pickett is overrated so far.

rubbish comment.

He’s won two best and fairests and was second in the other. They’re clearly not concerned about the way he plays

How many B&F's again was that.

The rubbish is yours, that you think a player does not need to change and to improve.

Wake up and look properly at games,  and stop playing favourites.

Both him & Viney couldn’t kick straight if it their life depended on it.

I cannot believe you guys.... drop Clayton Oliver???? Never in this LIFETIME... [censored] you blokes have lost the plot!!

Accountability?? Ok lets run through our list of "Unaccountables" shall we Oh and lets not forget he is a dual B&F and all Australian

I'd drop Max on his showing today before Clayton Oliver!!!

Viney gone, Vaanders gone Brayshaw, gone and a few more others Tomlinson, Lever, Langdon all POOR

Garbage

BS. Clayton was terrible today. An absolute liability. Brayshaw tried his guts out and was effective.

rubbish.

He’s a small flea who runs around fast. He did one goal assist today and a few tackles. He also gets smashed many times because of his size. Reminds me of other promising players we had who ended up delivering nothing.

Ah..... what?? He’s won 2 as I said. What are you on about?

Hes not playing at his best but he cops more attention than any player on our team. Of course he needs to improve but deadset, he’s one of the last of our issues.

As I said previously there are plenty more concerns about guys going backwards rather than Olly.

Clayton had a bad game, horrible actually, last week he was one of our best, against Carlton probably our best.. Clarry is teh type of player thatr when it works its brilliant and it works more than often, when it doesn't, people bag him for being lazy and not kicking it enough.. which there is some truth to but dropping him after a poor game is peak hysteria in my opinion. I will back him in to bounce back.

Doesn't handball properly, just sort of flicks off and hopes for the best, in 2018 it was really lightening quick hands out of congestion now it's just no brainer get rid of it stuff. Ineffective player right now.

He's not so lazy in a physical sense possibly,  but more in a mental sense imv.   I think he shuts off after he reckons his part is done. So maybe lazy in that sense.

And doesn't do enough when the ball is not in his area, hence his lack of effort to help out the defence, when the ball is coming back at us.

I've seen him more in the backhalf in the past 2 matches, than i can remember.

But he is not great, or skilled in that part of the ground. He makes a lot of mistakes.

What am I on about.

I'm on about,  every player has to be held responsible whether they've played 2 games, or 250 games,  whether they are 10 year players, or whether they have won 2 B&F's.

He is not above the team, nor the club, and really has to get his act together instead of putting his teammates right in [censored] most of the time.

He has lost the cleanness he had early in his career.  Since I think he has had accolades.

I do not disagree.   Kozzie being thrown to the wolves.  Time for a rest.

Yep. Goodwin is using the season as a pre season type situation. Currently Kozzy is being played on potential and not output

Mate - I’m confused. Not sure if you’re trolling or just very erratic with your posting.

You said the coaches weren’t happy with his playing, I disputed this saying he’s won two best and fairests and runners up in another.

Then you queried the number like I was wrong and you’ve changed the topic. You’re a confusing poster - passionate yes however a bit all over the shop

I’ve had a feeling since early last year that he plays in a slightly different manner to protect his shoulders. Still think that’s true. He’s not soft and I am not implying it, but he also wouldn’t run through a brick wall to get the footy like the real top line inside mids do.

He wins an enormous amount of ball, it’s just gotta be more beneficial for the team for him to do so.

We still lack a genuine A-grader that brings effort, skill and game winning ability. We lack the strong coach and the strong on field leaders to drive standards. There is not one bloke on our list I would trust to show up and perform every single week.

Its a very frustrating and underwhelming task supporting this club

Oliver dishes off to a player under pressure, time and again.  If by chance the AFL introduces "team prior opportunity" as has been discussed on On The Couch, many of Oliver's disposals would result in a free kick to the opposition.

I said the coaches weren't happy with is disposal ratios, and he wastes a lot of them.  And they want him to use the ball better and use it by foot.  For him to kick more, as we know. That means they want him to get out with the ball and use it by foot.

Not that he receives the ball on the outside, although that would be good as well.

He should kick the ball more often,  but not slam it onto boot under pressure as he does.  He needs to escape with ball,  away from the ball up, and use the ball.  He can kick very well when he has time.

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.
