I like Jack Viney but it neatly sums our forward woes when the coaches think our most reliable set shot is a dodgy left footer who struggles from 40m+.
He has kicked 32.29 from his 120 games

Around 40m or closer i’d go T Mac. Over 40 I’ll choose Hunt, he holds the clutch award from 2019.

I'm going Salem within 45m.

Outside 45m I'd go a bit of a roughy and say Steven May who has a beautiful and long kick.

My future up and comer however is Trent Rivers and I think he could quickly become the best kick in our side.

For set shots he’s one of our worst.

He is a bit like Maxy in so far as you put him within 15 - 20m straight in front and he gets the yips.  Further out than that, or hard up against the boundry right in the pocket, I think they go all right.

If it's from the boundary, then Maxy is Da Man.

I can't work out if this clip shows a replay or the second of these goals that Max kicked from the same spot in the space of about 5mins.

The spray he gives the Bombers fan afterwards is gold and would be worth while setting up Max to kick for goal just to get up opposition supporters.

Melbourne Goals Behinds Other Total shots Accuracy %
Jayden Hunt 18 10 4 32 56.3
Christian Petracca 17 10 7 34 50
Sam Weideman 11 8 4 23 47.8
Tom McDonald 18 15 6 39 46.2
Jake Melksham 10 5 7 22 45.5
Jeff Garlett 9 9 3 21 42.9
James Harmes 10 15 4 29 34.5

Those stats say Weideman and so do i. If he gets a go this year it will become obvious....

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
