He’s a gun bloke. Stay strong

Actually,  nothing to do with a weakness.!

If anything,  trying to be too 'tough',  causes mental health illness.  see 'farmers'... and failed 'Japanese business men',  in disgrace.    Instead of simply surrendering to the stress,  and say OK, you've got me...  I'll have to speak with someone for help.

Surrender is the best health policy. Re mental illnesses.  going it alone is detrimental.

Gotta love the way he's gone about it. Rather than feel sorry for himself he's taken up the fight. Well played young man.

Oh, and if you do ever start feeling down, I have the remedy ;)

I say this without meaning to sound flippant but that goal by Mitch did a lot for my mental health. I have watched it probably 30 times since and I always feel happy.
I think that’s why I have always been a passionate supporter. Watching football is such a wonderful distraction from some of the seriousness of life

Strong is the show strength. To speak up. Strength to battle on. Not succumb to your mental demons.

It doesn't take strength to battle on.   It takes persistence and desire.

Strength has zero to do with it.

In fact,  using  'strength'  as the terminology,  is detrimental,  Re depression/anxiety.

Strength is such an ambiguous word,  that so many people have differing perceptions of meaning...    Is it  'weak',  that someone has been burdened with depression???    I don't think so, And I sincerely hope people out there do not think they MUST be  'weak',  to find they are depressed.

Saying,  "be strong",  imply's the alternative is to be 'WEAK'.   People with Depression/Anxiety are highly likely to be in a deep negative mental framework.  And will likely take the opposing perception of the Saying__

The strength to fight the disease. Yes fight mental illness.

You don't  "fight"  mental illness.   You work with it,  go with the flow,  dealing with it.  Easing the strain.

Going  "against the stream",  and doing that alone,  is a major cause of stress, and emotional fatigue, and great unhappiness.

Stress,  a great contributor towards 'Depression'.

I spoke to him at training during the 2018/19 pre season and told him no matter what happens in his career he'll always have this. I said many great players waited a whole career to play in a final and didn't even have a memory like this. He burst into the biggest grin and said thanks mate.   I spoke to him again in Feb at Maroochydore when they were heading back. He was about to order something and I said I'd leave him in peace and he said no worries mate just let me order and I'm happy to have a chat. Couldn't have been nicer. Special guy. Really hope his career takes off again. He has plenty to offer on and off field.  We could all be queuing up for some mental health tips in a month or two of isolation.

I've just got through 3 months of self isolating with recovery from an Op so unfortunately already have experience. Can 't believe I'm about to go through it for the second time in six months. There are worse things to deal with. Demonland's going to take a hammering.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan.
