Apparently Dees one of three clubs to not have coaches or players affected, along with Geelong and Hawks.

Not wrong.

Hate to argue with you Demonland, but he is wrong. For someone who's job is to read the news, I'm surprised he hasn't picked up on the point that the players and officials he's talking about are subject to stricter contact controls and mandatory testing twice a week. That's what makes them "special".

I concede. You have a point.

MOVE TO THE NT - games hosted in Alice Springs and Darwin

Yep, I agree. Send them all to the NT.

Can we sell all of our games up there? Haha

kangaroos-move-12-players-four-staff-from-melbourne-lockdown-zones

We are one of only 3 clubs that didn't have to move people from lock down zones last night.  Roos had to move 12 players at a minutes notice.  Imagine the distress and impact of that on players and families.  Who knows when they will see each other again.  Ditto the impact of hubbing for SA and WA clubs for the last 4-6 weeks.

I reckon those factors equallise the impact of skipping the Ess game which will be played in due course, probably in a bye round.

So imv, from now on we (fans) can no longer claim that postponement overly disadvantaged us and folks that do are wearing blinkers tothe hardships other clubs' players are experiencing.

When we go into a hub so will all other Vic clubs.

It is now back to a relatively level playing field.  No more excuses.

"By the powers vested in me by no-one in particular, I hereby announce that Willmoy is not allowed to enjoy, celebrate or otherwise have any warm inner glow should the Melbourne Football Club win the 2020 Premiership."

Same goes for all the others saying this season should be dumped or doesn't count for anything. In fact, someone should put together a list of all those who have said so. Might make for an interesting read later in the year.

Mind you, I don't expect us to win the flag this year, but whoever does absolutely will have earned it.

Are security guards low in immunity or low in IQ? I’m seeing a strong correlation between these people and the second wave of Covid in Victoria. The mind boggles.

How are the security guards at the quarantine hotels and getting caught sleeping with quarantined people. Also falsifying records of security working.

crazy times

Or do not regard our advice with much respect.?    Perhaps a disregard for our ways.

There seems to be a culture in areas,  where the word of our health professionals has met with little regard.

It was the state govt that decided to use private security employees. Some of them had no experience in the job. It is the Andrews and co who are ultimately responsible for this mess.

And who then is responsible for flying overseas returning citizens home, directly into Melbourne for quarantining,  dl4e.?   maybe  SloMow.?

'right',  and as such,  who is responsible for most outbreaks in Sydney originally;  and in Nth Tasmania, dl4e.?    Via Ruby Princess...  after that ship was refused entry into New Zealand.

Maybe the CoAttrition government.?     hmmn.

Yeah and so what. Infact slomow was making excuses for Kim Jong Dan today. They are both guilty but there are no excuses for Andrews and his corrupt admin. You obviously look at thing through one eye.

Privatisation across the board has caused a lot of issues.

This is just another.

The buck does stop at the top.

I think these comments are totally unacceptable by an old [censored] and by a club president makes it even worse.

Who are you to judge someone if they don’t think it is worth them putting themselves in danger for a game “with a valid reason”. F off!

So, what's a valid reason...and who decides?

One persons valid reason is another persons excuse.

Ed really does make himself a target...Dermott has always had a bit of the buffoon about him, entertaining at times but not the smartest tool.

It's comments like that from Ed that make it hard to land the best free agents. Richmond are open about caring for their players first and they get players like Tom Lynch to choose them whilst Collingwood gets .... Chris Mayne?

That is what I find so hard to swallow on it, no care for the players involved, we just want to produce the product to make money. If you don't we will screw you over.

Traded, Drafted, Traded, Traded.

None were free agents, although I missed Daniel Wells, who was offered a 3 year contract at age 31.

If we win the 2020 Flag i will donate $1000.00 to the MFC trip away, and i will shortly rush off to lay that bet off...

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

The Gold Coast Suns find themselves outside of the top eight for the first time since Round 1 with pressure is mounting on the entire organisation. Their coach Damien Hardwick expressed his frustration at his team’s condition last week by making a middle-finger gesture on television that earned him a fine for his troubles. He showed his desperation by claiming that Fox should pick up the tab.  There’s little doubt the Suns have shown improvement in 2025, and their position on the ladder is influenced to some extent by having played fewer games than their rivals for a playoff role at the end of the season, courtesy of the disruption caused by Cyclone Alfred in March.  However, they are following the same trajectory that hindered the club in past years whenever they appeared to be nearing their potential. As a consequence, that Hardwick gesture should be considered as more than a mere behavioral lapse. It’s a distress signal that does not bode well for the Queenslanders. While the Suns are eager to remain in contention with the top eight, Melbourne faces its own crisis, which is similarly deep-seated but in a much different way. After recovering from a disappointing start to the season and nearing a return to respectability among its peer clubs, the Demons have experienced a decline in status, driven by the fact that while their form has been reasonable (see their performance against the ladder leader in the Kings Birthday match), their conversion in front of goal is poor enough to rank last in the competition. Furthermore, their opponents find them exceptionally easy to score against. As a result, they have effectively eliminated themselves from the finals race and are again positioned to finish in the bottom half of the ladder.
