Melbourne v Adelaide

I don't think it helps much having a Midfield Specialist Coach whose background is ugly, lock-down, one-on-one, accountable footy.

Obviously you didn't see Paul Williams play.

Calm down guys - it's a practice match - the scores are irrelevant.

I'm just interested in the progress of the younger players and guys like Moloney who haven't played in a while.

You're not worried about what this is going to do to our percentage Scoop?

hard to take when 10 years ago we played this handball crazy game and got flogged every week and took us really till 2 years ago to get rid of it

besides you do things in games and tight situations that you train and handballing out of those situations are usually the worst option

id also love to watch the young kids playing too and knowing how well they are playing, id just rather it with a direct, straight down the corrider style of football

Reminds me of the first time I found this site in March(or Feb) 2002 when we eventually had a great year.

We had been beaten by St Kilda in a pre season game and the site was on fire.

Some people never learn.

Something is in the air. We are gettng great practice at hand ball.

We don't know what's going on. And why should we? We know nothing anyway.

Who cares?

If they had kicked today rather than practice their handball it would lead to a Premiership? Demand feeding definitely has a down side.

Goal to Mattner - the 7th unanswered goal. Down by 36 now, correction 35 - Brad Miller just missed from dead in front.

did you have to?

I don't want another Brad Miller thread.

There are people who won't leave him alone.

We have them rattled now with Aaron Davey and Cameron Bruce goalling (from 60 metres).

Melbourne 5.4.34

Adelaide 9.15.69

Meanwhile the whacker on 5aa keeps on saying:-

"5aa does not hold the rights to stream its football commentaries on the internet…

If you want to listen to a football commentary on line you should go to afl.com.au… [don't waste your time]

5aa will resume internet streaming at the conclusion of its internet commentary….

Thank you for listening."

Trouble is that he doesn't sound like such a whacker now!

For God Sake - someone hand out the nerve pills - have a look at the side we sent over. What did you all expect??? Yee of little faith!

The whole match can be taken with a "care factor - NIL" attitude - what does it matter???? This is just a chance for our youngsters to get a feel for the game - if we were serious, we wouldn't have left the big boys at home.

What do you all want - a massive win in a game that counts for nothing? Then you would all be on here moaning about the injuries to our senior players.

I would sooner cop a flogging and keep the boys that count for the matches that count!

I am excited that Petters is being given good reviews so far

we were never going to kick a winning score without neitz and robbo, and anyone who thinks so is completely deluded.

the score as scoop amongst others so rightly pointed out is irrelevant. to get match fitness into the 12 or so guys who will line up in round 1 is by far the most important aspect. little else matters. we wont have more handballs than kicks in round 1, the match commitee aren't that stupid.

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
