Pick 3 overs for Papley. If we split the pick, then on-trading one of those picks in the teens for him would be a good get.

Would prefer to keep pick 3 though!

Maybe we are.

One infuriating thing about the MFC now it that it just doesnt leak. At all.

Wish they would sometimes......

I'd give pick 3 for papely and get pick 9 back and grab a stephens or someone. Also those 2 video highlights of flanders and was it ash were horrible haha. I was laughing at them and their poor disposal (thinking how well they would fit in here). But as people say they are just highlights. In the end, i hope we trade pick 3 out and get 2 picks for it in top 20. I like the look of stephens for sure (greedy, fast and evasive - exactly what we don't have).

Should we throw in Gawn and Oliver too just to be safe?

I like Papely but come on.

I like the look of Gould.

Has some really good attributes and takes the game on. Like a tougher bigger Lachie Whitfield.

He looked like an undersized overweight defender. Not sure he is what we need although could be a long term replacement for Hibberd/Jetta potentially. From the very little I've seen/heard it seems Stephens, Young or Ash are the players we should be looking at.

Hayden Young from the Dandenong Stingrays apparently was number 1 in the agility tests at the 2019 Draft Combine. Hayden's agility score was 7.94 seconds. I am assuming that's good?

Hopefully our National Recruiting Manager Jason Taylor takes note.

Hayden Young should be the major target if we keep pick 3.

Have faith, they have watched all of these players all year, they understand more than we do. Our opinions are overwhelmingly based on a brief exposure to a highlight real.

looking at the highlights of flanders i dont know if this was a good day or a bad day for him but i only saw about 3 kicks that actually went cleanly to a team mate. a lot of hurried kicks just down the field to opposition players. So he would certainly fit in to our current team like that, but i would prefer if we can get someone who can actually deliver the ball to a team mate with greater efficiency than he has shown.

I know the draft should be more about talent than moneyball, but we need a small forward, possibly a tall forward, and we will need a backup for Gawn (I'm meaning it takes a while to develop a ruckman, thinking 3-5 years down the track).

Small forward - Weightman

Ruck - Jackson

Tall Forward - Kemp

I think these guys would still be around at picks 6, 7, 8 (based on the way people are talking) - so surely talks with Fremantle and GWS would be in full swing to trade pick 3?

WHO WILL GO PICK NO.3 IN THE DRAFT? SHEEHAN THROWS UP TWO NAMES

I have mentioned this before in other threads, but feel it’s again relevant here: If you listen to this interview, this “draft guru” says that we might trade pick 3 for a couple of picks in the teens. Surely not..

Absolutely not!

A top ten plus very early teens at least if at all.

We are probably a few good players away from being a good side. We have the chance to get good players with 3 and 8. Everyone it seems believes Young is the best available at 3. Unless everyone is wrong we have a very good player available and possibly will get another at 8.

In hindsight the Kelly deal was probably wrong. If other clubs are desperate to get our pick it is because of the value of it.

2 best 22 players is 10% of the team. Add Langdon and Tomlinson and that is 20%. That is a massive end of season haul for a club.

I would be thrilled with Young and whoever we think is best at 8.

A bit of development from some of the younger players and a fit AVB and maybe Bennell and we are really improving our squad.

I support our FD and hope we get it right.

i agree the Kelly deal was a failure, to try to repeat it by swapping a top pick for two lesser picks is just plain dumb, and proves we have learnt nothing. We have done reasonably well with our recruiting so far this draft, if we can get bennell and maybe another top free agent we will be well ahead of last year.  We can then use pick 3 and 8 to get the two best players available. that would mean 5-6 new players into our starting line up next year..
