Before we can start thinking about where we'd celebrate a premiership (open top bus down High St, Armadale ?) we have to become consistent finalists. Along with a franchise player or two (apologies for the Americanism) it's what will get the next generation of fans wearing our guernsey again in the schoolyards around Victoria. Get it right on the field and everything off it becomes just that bit easier.

How do you bring about change then??

Perhaps let sit around a fire & say how wonderful & successful the MFC is!

Thanks AF - you answered it perfectly.

ill do what I can. Support the MFC with 6 memberships from my family per year, organise a support group in my region (central vic) which raises money to buy more memberships and to hold functions and arrange buses to take supporters to games, and give the club feedback (in a constructive way) in anyway I can.

but if you think it’s more helpful to [censored] and moan about how bad we are via the internet - then that’s fine, I can do that too.

It’s a great time to compete with Vic clubs. Dons, blues and saints all poor. Hawks are in for a rough patch.

As seen by our two finals last year with 90K plus the fans come out quickly when you win. Get that right and we’ll be fine off field

Winning is the only answer. Obvious maybe, but it is the only answer.

A Social Club is nothing without wins. Recruitment of Players who want to win. A Coach who can encourage the best out of the list, who knows who will perform. Those that don’t are expendable each year

Great research, what can I say its a discussion site, though I don't like being negative the reality is what it is about the status of the MFC.

Clearly you absolutely relish being negative, but the point was more that you've said this same thing over and over again.

Would recommend changing the record or at least trying to be constructive as you're not telling anyone anything we don't already know and it's incredibly boring.

When I come on to the forum for some chuckles...I keep getting mislead by the name @Demonsone vs @demonstone. One is essentially positive and one less so... One letter makes a massive difference.

Lol. You don't really think you can bring about change on an unofficial forum do you?

And simply lambasting the club on the internet isn't really going to bring about change.

You clearly are not a part of the planned DEMONLAND.COM BOARD SPILL at the MFC next year if we're down the bottom.

Do we really need the same thread from you over and over and over?

Most threads on demonland are about the lack of success of the MfC. I’m really no different to the rest. The club is having a members forum to discuss the on field performances.

With all due respect, I think the order has to be the other way around. Get the off field right and then on field success will follow.

So then ... who from amongst our illustrious DL posters will be chairman? Vice? Plus six other spots up for grabs, remembering that we want to be well represented by women, minorities, Collingwood supporters other community interests.

Dignity and common sense. Great to see.

And hopefully it affords him the freedom to have an excellent year.

    HIGHLIGHTS/LOWLIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Melbourne traveled across the continent to take on the Fremantle Dockers in sweltering conditions at Mandurah south of Perth in a game that delivered the club both its highlight and its lowlight in the first minute.  But first, let’s start by doing away with the usual cliches used in connection with the game. It was just a practice match and the result didn’t matter. Bad kicking is bad football. The game was played in severe heat, the swirly breeze played havoc with both teams resulting in

    TRAINING: Friday 28th February 2025

A couple of Demonland Trackwatchers headed down to Gosch's Paddock to bring you their observations from today's training session before the Demons head off to Perth for their final Practice Match. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Beautiful morning, not much wind, more than a couple of dozen spectators.  The players were up and about, boisterous and having fun. One of their last drills were three teams competing in a hard at it, handball game in a small area. Goody

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
