Given we were out of finals contention after about round 6, why was he played "all year" then and not sent off for treatment?

Apparently he was OK to play, but not among the rough & tumble of centre bounces.

And AF, I haven't posted about Brayshaw's back issues before. I only got the inside word yesterday. 100% accurate.

Frost is a limited footballer who is making the most of his opportunities. Good on him. But only a fool would think he is a gun or that we should pay whatever he wants.

If we get Tomlinson in as a FA and get a 2nd rounder for Frost trade and we are in front.

However, if he wants too much there will be no suitors.

Not the same players or circumstances, obviously, but the Tigers called Dusty's trade bluff a few years ago and he settled for less. We should learn from that.

This is looking increasingly like Jeremy Howe Mark II. An occasionally spectacular player with flawed skills has a strongish year, an ambitious manager and a hankering for a bigger payday. In Howe's case his manager basically talked him out of the club and the kid fell for the fairytale he could go play forward at Pie Park.

Frosty also seems in thrall to his manager. He has not set any guidelines for his manager and seems to believe his own pr. If he stays I'll be ok with it. If he goes, I reckon it's because the club has a clear view of his relative worth, and I'll be ok with it, but a bit sorry for what is says about the game.

I almost laughed out loud there. Frost is spectacular? Now I've read it all.

An interception with a gut run out of defence and no one able to run him down does not count as a spectacle in your world? OK. But it does for me. The problem with Frost is what happens next.

And Jeremy? Brilliant mark followed by turnover.

There. I've spelled it out for you.

Not trade related. But Brayshaw wasn't played in the middle all year because he had back issues.

I remember commenting on this in a Post Game thread quite early in the season as it was clear Gus couldn't bend over, run or tackle.  His back problem was known as he missed the family 100 x 100 sprints on Christmas day and he spent most of the preseason in rehab.

Like another poster said, I don't understand why we kept playing him especially in the second half of the season.

Hope playing him doesn't cause him to spend this preseason in rehab.

Just reckon that's terrible management. Will that now impact his preseason? Will it be the same next year? Did it do more damage having him play all year? (Not questions directed at you btw, just thinking out loud).

You're inconsistent, mate. You're constantly saying we're bent over and here you are, standing in a metaphorical park, waiting for a metaphorical rogering.

Yes this Club is often Bent over, A Good Coach and Football Department would back themselves to turn a player like Frost into a Gun attacking defender or Wing man. We should do the same.

If his Manager is upping the price that would mean other Clubs have shown serious interest.

Mate, if he hasn't learnt the skills and decision making during his 8 years on two AFL lists, when are we hoping he does learn? After he's signed a big chunky contract with us? That'd be right.

Thanks AF, made me lol.

i do normally enjoy and even laugh at some of your posts SWYL  but sorry Frost will never be a Gun anything

Great back up as he has proved but i have my heart in my hands more often then not when he runs out with the ball

So you don’t think Clarkson wouldn’t love Frosty as a Project Player?

You kidding a he can't kick, a wingman must be a good kick, I know everyone thinks the Hawks can turn anyone into a great player that is simply not true, he can't kick and will never be a good kick, he will always be limited, if the Hawks are prepared to pay him big bucks they have become stupid. The only skill he has is running fast.

Clarkson ain’t Stupid.

The Jury is still out at Melbourne

So let's see... Frost could be a gun if he went to the Hawks because Clarko can polish a t**d, but as he's unlikely to go there we'll never know.

The definition of a safe assessment. Well done.

now thats different , yes a project player but not a gun player

Project to become a Gun.

Clarkson would back himself and his Coaching team to succeed . I put money ? on it

Frosty will make the odd mistake, but he will take the game on. We have never had enough of those Players

Im all for taking a chance and picking the odd one , and even had a bet here and there myself , so happy to take that Bet

Yes he does take the game on I agree , but ODD mistake ....  you mean every quarter right ...

That’s it, I’m putting $100 on Frosty to win the Brownlow next season.

If you had a multi of that plus Dees to win the flag and Jamie Elliot to the win the Norm Smith for us, I’d say you’d have all bases covered.

He really turned around Fitzpatrick!! Scully kicking has “improved” out of site under Clarko too...

Everyone forgets Frawley too. He really 'improved' when he went there.

Our whole team makes mistakes every Quarter Mark. This is exactly why I think Frost is under valued.

To much confusing structure is pumped in to these kids and not enough natural flair.

The Balance is all wrong. If players up the field were prepared to run harder then the work of Frost would be far more useful.

As I said earlier, other teams want him, there is no other reason for his manager to hold firm on a Top Dollar Contract.

From what I have been told the club doctor and physiotherapist have been given the boot. So hopefully the club have identified the issues with player injuries and rehab and they get the right people in place for next year.

I just thought the Frawley link was to obvious and had been mentioned before.

Impey and Wingard have “improved” out of sight as players as well. Win some, you lose some, the Hawks player development is the big difference compared to the Dees.
