Need to get the game on our terms in the clearances so we can control the ball movement better going forward.

Too often goes missing for too many quarters when the going gets tough.  Tends to look/perform better when we are on top.

You're talking about Jesse Hogan though right? Weids goes missing all the time in 2019 but played a couple of handy ones in 2018. Hoges dominated minnows in July.

Jack Viney always looked fine. I'd be shocked if he misses the rest of this game.

Geez chook I don’t know about that. I had a lump in my throat when I saw the image of him sitting in the bench.

'Play on at all costs' is a terrible game plan.  Suicide against any half decent team.

Our delivery is already rubbish enough without the added disability of doing it blindly.  Brayshaw and friends = panic merchants.

It looks like two teams of under tens out there.  How does Goodwin think this is sustainable?

Our disposal efficiency is up significantly, particularly in 1st Qrt

This is my biggest issue with our team, moving the ball too quickly too often. The best teams know when to put the accelerator on if they see the options but will seach for the link up ball that allows the forwards to get separation on their man.

ANB, Jones, Oliver, and Petracca from what I can remember of that quarter were all guilty of just banging it in there and the fact of the matter is that unless they hit the forward laces out it was always going to be rebounded.

Gilbert McAdam is living his best life. Head to toe in a fancy suit on national TV, but wearing comfy sneakers at the same time.

I'm not being facetious  but he needs to find a way to get himself involved

Plonk Weid in the goalsquare.

And watch him get nudged off the ball repeatedly? If we want somebody to play in the goalsquare the better person would be Preuss but it’s been shown repeatedly for many weeks we don’t want to play that way in our forward line, so I don’t think they would consider it

In Weeds' defense the game is being played at ground level. Hipwood has also had zero impact.

We don't want to play that way in the forward line, but our midfielders want to play that way kicking into f50. There's your disconnect. Hopefully Goody's just soiled himself watching Gawn go down and we'll get some sanity next week.

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
