Jeff Garlett continues trying to kick flashy highlight goals as he has done since coming back into the side when he could 

a) run further and invite contact and handball to a teammate free who the opponent has just run off

b) run further and kick a simple goal as opposed to trying to dribble a goal from 25m+ out or on some ridiculous angle 

c) play the %'s and feed it off to a teammate in a much better position as opposed to trying to dribble a goal from 25m+ out or on some ridiculous angle 

Those examples above have happened on numerous occasions which along for his lack of forward pressure and constant avoidance of physical contact are why he's not a team player

See my entire commentary on Cox. They also have Reid and Mihocek.

Hogan was offloaded for a reason.

Look at the goal kicking table. Cameron, Hawkins, Lynch, Kennedy, Darling, Finlayson. Only Ben Brown comes from a club not in contention for the flag. 

West Coast, Richmond, GWS, Geelong, Collingwood. All of them have quality KPF’s.

The MFC is not in development mode. We have gone through the rebuild and recruited to challenge these teams. 

I have no doubt internally the club will already be having this discussion.

Those attributes are what makes successful teams and regular 4 points will inspire me along with being regular finals contenders.

Uh....I’m not exactly ignorant to the many aspects of the game that inspire and make for successful teams. Just talking about a thing I saw this morning.

However if you were to watch a highlight reel of players backing into packs, sprinting to make a spoil to prevent an easy mark or score against,  crashing a pack and putting their body on the line to bring a ball to ground for a teammate, chase down tackles or a player continuing to chase down an opponent when all is lost to apply enough pressure to cause a skill error then you won’t see many clips of our players either. Which is the most unfortunate point I’m trying to make. We may not technically be on the bottom of the ladder but we sure are when it comes to highlight reels, and that speaks to our season and the club right now. Flat, uninspired and uninspiring.

These r the reasons y I don't think Garlett should b in the side going 4ward. If he played the percentages & drew the player I would happily have him,  but he will never do it so 4 me I'd rather play someone else who would. Garlett would break 2 many hearts if we ever made a Granny.

This has probably whats gotten lost amongst the commentary with that mark. His work rate to push hard forward was awesome to watch. Wanted the ball the moment he pushed away from the wing.

Yes Mel I agree with you there, it's improved in the last month with some selfless acts and once confidence improves you will see a few more moments of brilliance which comes with belief.

A look at the 2020 FA list also sees Kennedy, Tomahawk, Daniher, Cameron, Patton and a few others named.

Whether through FA or direct trading there are moves to be made by the Dees this off season. 

Darling is a terrific player. Would be a huge get.

We were caught short with lack of tall forwards.

Tmac seemed to be a star so that cant be helped. 

Weid was really an unknown quantity with a small ammount of games.

Smith and Preuss wete not real contenders so where was our third?

Tmac and Weid could have gone out on injuries and even though they have had little impact it was always a gamble having 2.

Lets bypass interstate candidates who may want to go home and anyone who has done a k knee.

Cameron obviously would be awesome.

Unfortunately, according to draft watchers, it’s a midfielders draft among the top 20 - 30 picks this year. 

Anyway, there’s no such thing as a ‘ready made’ 18yo key forward.

We must and I believe we will trade for one, or possibly look at a FA. Goodwin’s honeymoon is over. He knows he needs W’s and plenty of them in 2020 or it’s job on the line time.

I'm sure Mahoney and Todd Viney will be well advanced in looking at a variety of current players. Not sure ot will be a forward  to replace Tmac or Weid, who have clearly not been going at 100%.

Personally, I think an A grade mid with good pace and foot skills is a higher priority. Coniglio (FA) or Whitfield would be nice.

Not saying I wouldn't be happy with another kpf, just not Patton who has had 3 knee recos. Ben Brown would cost us 2020 first round pick. What would Tomlinson cost?

Given the potential yung-uns we have that includes several with AFL experience this year, we'd most probably be OK for KPD personnel but really, there are some at Casey who may warrant some thought in what is left of the 2-team season.

Some have the skills, needing experience and some have pace.

At the end of the day but at the start of next season, we had better have an improved game plan where not all 'great forwards to be'  have the pre-requisites of massive height and survivable pack-marking aptitudes ; by this it is meant that, if our gameplan might mature, we need some quick mid-sized players with versatility and agility (not omni-directionals) to really wreak havoc in pondering opposition heavyweights played down back (for them).

I'd suggest that is correct but it is an irony that Goodwin has yet to deploy a game plan that does exactly that with current personnel - that is, those who were or are not in injury recovery. It might have occurred at both forward and defensive zones - as demonstrated by Hore and surprisingly, the Trac, from time to time.

I think we need to trade for a mobile CHF.  

Not too tall,  but strong, aggressive and agile.   A modern version of Dermot would suffice.  A  Ross Glendinning,  or Malcolm Blight type of build,  and agility/mobility.

I just read and watched the thread, Casey kid is a Kiwi. 

I hadnn't realised  Mykelti Lefau  was tall.   I had seen vision of him last year,  but I did not realise he is  6'-4"  tall. 

He moves well,  and is Quick, and agile...  could suit our  Key Wi needs.  ?  ???
