No

But to be fair our whole starting mids are if they are not winning the ball.

Our starting mids are slow (Viney, Harmes, Oliver & Brayshaw - even Gawn but we are not talking rucks)

They can win the ball but they can't chase or kick.... It's a massive problem

The mids are not a liability if their not winning the ball......they are a liability if they keep having 30 turnovers between them (like last night)

No poise with ball in hand & team first decisions gone.....& as far as being accountable & chasing, that's just discipline.

1 >   I feel the biggest issue last night was the fumbling which killed any momentum.

2 >  Too much Get ball- get rid of ball

3>   BOMBING !!!!! into Fwd line in AFL guarantees bounceback goals especially when everybody charges after the bombed ball => returns over and away they go

4> No just fix up Weids, Fritsch,( Both relatively inexperienced players.)  Tracc  leading patterns and get the midfielders to lower their eyes and identify them, rather than BOMBING. Lockett could not kick goals ( well maybe not as many) with how the ball is coming in. Surely professional coaches can teach young people how to lead. There are plenty of Video reviews of good player positioning themselves Make Dermy Head Coach, he is the onlt bloke in the world who thinks he could fix it in a week

5> Head bombers last night : Viney, Oliver and Jones. Brayshaw had a few  cut off, but they were genuine passes rather than  bombs.

6> Hore is Good Has heart !!! Lockart is still learning because he has heart . Still learning where to be !!

Our Defence was pretty good last night considering the pressure they were under. Although I do worry when Frosty thinks !!!!

This trade may go down as one of the worst in our history. Ever wonder why GCS put so little effort into keeping him? A guy who comes to the club well over weight, trains poorly, gets reported then breaks down with a long term injury.  And just to rub salt into the wounds he is paid around $80k.

Good authority Gold Coast young players are super fit and happy without him

Not prepared to completely write the trade off yet but it is a huge concern that we sold the best key forward we’ve had since Neitz and a guy we’d invested so much time,  money and effort into for an older, overweight key defender who now appears to have a chronic injury. I think we need to start going back to the draft and get more elite juniors, Hawthorn are the masters of trading to fill needs but we seem to regularly make a hash of it. Could have added a player like Bailey Smith or Zak Butters at pick 6 who both seem to have a lot of what we lack.

I have to say the softest performance last night was the Melbourne supporters who didn't turn up. 72k and a predominantly Richmond crowd. There should have been at least 10k more Melbourne supporters there. The crowd has an impact on players and umpires and we let the team down when we don't show up to provide the support.

We want these marquee games we have to turn up to them regardless of our form. Coll/Ess supporters always turn up to Anzac Day regardless where they are on the ladder.

I Turned up and noticed that Dee supporters stayed away in droves . I will say that I'm afraid that the start Melbourne is having has lost quite a number  of fans . They are truly atrocious. Hoping against hope the team pulls its finger out very soon or they won't be  hitting membership targets next season .

You already have your answer. As soon as PJ retired the whole club has collapsed. NOBODY has the drive and desire from within.

Have you heard a word from the President this year?

this club can only survive with training wheels, take them off and we are a pathetic shambles.

Such a fan of PJ. As soon as he came on with dees, I felt an air of confidence the the club was moving in the right direction. I don't have that feeling with GP, he just seems more self interested rather than being club focused. Having said that, I don't know the man, could be [censored] and he is the opposite.

We will find out soon enough, the current situation cannot go on too much longer

It also sends a message to the AFL that we should be relegated to Sunday twilight games.

Melbourne football club is a business where I pay $1200 for my wife and I per annum . They are dishing up a foul product right now and it's on them if the AFL cuts there prime time slots ,not the fans fault . another big deal is the trouble getting into town from where I live with train service mayhem and road works right and left and finally get there and have to watch a match the quality of 2013... where is the fun in that ?

I went on Wednesday night and saw an improvement until midway through the third when they came unravelled when the Tigers put their foot on our throats  but obviously that's going to happen with a bunch of stand ins from the Casey side just doing th,e best they can until our genuine first teamers return from various injuries . But we are I believe in a perfect storm with problems on many fronts . Game plan , coaching , injuries , recuperating from operations . I think management knew all along that this season was going to be a bust and was going to be leap backwards .

On ANZAC Day Collingwood and Essendon always seem to provide the fans at the ground with thrilling football and a close result which keeps everyone on tenterhooks. These factors are the big draw cards as well as the salute to the ANZACs. Those two teams seem to know how to rise to the occasion. Easy to loathe both of them, but have to begrudgingly admire them for that.

Speaking in metaphorical terms using supermarkets as an example, Essendon v Collingwood on Anzac Day is generally like Woolworths playing Coles.

We are like NQR where you occasionally and surprisingly stumble across a  quality product, but it’s always ridiculously close to a use by date and is only stocked for a limited time.

Uh-oh, I thought you were going to say MFC could be found in the bargain bin at the Reject Shop. Those things are always full of unwanted or broken items. Never going to be up to standard. Lucky you didn't say that.

Every club seems to be celebrating the emergence of new players except us.

I don't know how many goals we lost and then gave away because of skill errors.

Petracca must have fumbled 10 times.

I wouldn't blame Taylor for our list, as I think he has been directed in the sort of player to draft.

I am confident he can pick up some different types of players, if allowed to.

How about Marty Hore?

Meanwhile who is Essendon's emerging new player? Or Collingwood's?

Mate if you accept last night's mediocrity you're part of the problem. 2 tackles I50 for the whole game and continual bombing forward to the opoosition. Bag your fellow supporters all you want but some people prefer to spend their hard earned money and time on more valuable things. They are full time professional footballers playing like amateurs

More tripe.

What "supporting" are you doing if you don't go to games and just come on here bagging the players?

If you don't want to spend your money or time supporting us, fine. Maybe don't spend your time posting on here then.

Collingwood won last year by 49 points in a non-contest.

I reckon we'll struggle to just under 45,000 next year.

It's funny how many Collingwood and Carlton mates have said to me in the last few days, 'what the hell is ANZAC Day Eve'. Are you [censored] serious? We're completely out of sight, out of mind. Those two clubs are pretty bloody arrogant though.

Before yesterday 3 of the last 6 games were decided by over 40 points (one by 69 points) the others were all over 3 goals.

Nice try.

Crowded with oppo players!!! Most disposals being 2 Tigers defenders mainly winning ball by themselves.

Thanks, but I was incorrect with the games always being close. It just seemed that way every time I listened to annoying Collingwood supporters that I know. They are a bad influence. See my other posts nearby.
