Petracca to be traded to year's end spud

1 goal a game from Weid isnt enough and 2 goals from 5 games for tmac is deplorable.

Ironically he was touted to be a chance for the Coleman. He is on target to kick nine goals for the year.

Kent and Hogan up forward with Watts Dunn and Howe down back would’ve looked good today. Yet we continue to trade our talent out and lose every trade we partake in.

[censored] call. Continues to try his heart out and is creating assists for his team mates every week. Playing in our forwardline would be pretty horrible the way we bomb it in long to Preuss every time.

Kent is a great player and we got nothing back for him. He is not the most skilled player but always shows heart, something we lacked today

Every single other club except for maybe Sydney  has more speed and run in the midfield than us.

We have no decent crumbers

The game plan is not working at all this year too much reliance on dominating clearances

the coaches have not adjusted he plan for the new rules

We have failed to recruit/draft to add more balance to the list to give us more pace and run

we are in big trouble, won’t be an easy fix !!!

Spot on JM we had a win against Sydney only because it was on a smaller ground against a similar contested ball side. That win changed nothing in terms of our inability to play the wider expanses of the Gee against quicker sides.

Yes We have no crumbing forwards and no defensive composure. The game plan is not working at all. Last year we dominated contested possession, clearances and inside 50’s, we depended on this to win. This year it’s the same plan but we aren’t dominating the midfield, we aren’t defending well through the midfield and our backline is a mess.

Rubbish missed a goal from 15 metres out. Slow spud who can't kick

I'd say serviceable not brilliant for Hore today. He's still off the pace when it comes to using the ball. Instead of taking the easy first option he puts himself at risk of turning it over and then often telegraphs his decision. The little stutter steps then loop on his kicks in uncontested situations aren't helpful at all.

Killed a few contests and is a nice interceptor when given the chance but I was hoping for more attacking drive and better defensive ability on the deck, he's very easy to get around.

He is one of a few who are still transitioning, between VFL and AFL.   He was very good last week,  when he had assistance from the team...  on that small ground.

Can't blame him for needing some time to be up to AFL speed,  so soon.    Its the other defenders,  and Mids,  we have to look to.

I don’t buy in to the emotive crap, no heart, passengers etc etc.

There have no doubt been some really bad performances (Lewis, Spargo, McDonald, Jones etc), but this is so clearly coaching to me I’m astounded others don’t see it.

Structure, selection and game day. It appalling and questions must be asked!!!

Yep welcome to Wonderland Alice, This is right on the money.

We have a team of bathwater drinkers ( Most) and coaching that seems not in anyway to be innovative, swarthy, adventurous and BOLD

Where is plan B C and D

Serious , Serious Questions remain.

I almost think really Roll the dice next week and make a statement and make 5 or 6 changes , put a few on notice and Roll the Dice

Need to play Garlett, May if fit, Keilty, Lockhart, Sparrow, maybe another

Gone

Spargo, Lewis, Both Wagners, Hibberd also too slow, Petracca needs a rocket!

That's just for starters

I haven't a clue what to say. It's been a terrible day personally with some terrible news this morning and this has really just nailed it. I came to the game today to get a breather from all that was happening today, and the sad part is I don't regret it. Yep that's right, I would still rather get down to the g to see our beloved Dees belted just to escape from reality for a few hours :(

Full bellies, that's the bottom line right now. Thinking the improvement comes naturally, fluffing up basic fundamentals. Looks more like 2014 than ever right now.

The gameplan is fundamentally flawed and there is absolutely no point in denying it. When the first 5 of their scoring shots came from 6 inside 50s and we almost always as a result of us pressing high and caught out back? Well, it's time to strip back the BS.Troy Chaplin, I'm not one to call for a man's job but there has to be some serious scrutiny here because otherwise what metrics are we using to measure performance?

We've talked about this ad nauseam. We get a million inside 50s and never score while they get like an 80 % return. Game over, we just can't compete with that. And just hold off before telling me their efficiency ended at only 55%. Watch the game.

Not even gonna bother potting the poor performers. They know who they are. As for the positive contributors Salem continues to impress. I really liked Marty Gore's game I thought he showed a lot of courage at tense times. Gawn worked hard all game and Harmes was always in there. Fritsch really shows you what he has. In a backline where the pressure is on all the time he always uses it.

That's it from me. I'm not going go say something stupid like I won't be back this season because it's a total lie. Stay strong people.

I agree with your thoughts. Best wishes for whatever is going on for you. You stay strong too

Hore was Membrey’s direct opponent... excellent is a stretch

He isn't strong enough, for Membrey.

It makes you wonder if we are in list management.  Our off-field admin cannot be so bad, Re our lack fitness to key personnel. and subsequently onfield match-ups.

Maybe not Tyson but Kelly or Billing’s would’ve been handy.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
