Judged to be careless conduct and medium impact to the head.

But "Berry walked off the ground unassisted and was not concussedSo how is it 'medium impact'?  Must appeal on that alone!!

Furthermore, Brisbane chose not to bring him back on as a precaution not because he was out to it. This decision stinks big time.

Come on 'bub'...the Brisbane player wasn't negligent, he just didn't expect May to be so stupid.

It was a dumb act, a bit of a brain fade.

...but as 'Gonzo' said, minimal impact. A fine and move on.

Come on Rjay..the lion [censored] wasn't even looking where he was going !!

There was nothing smart about that bump.

The area above the shoulders not just the head is protected if an earlier poster is correct and to me that sounds logical.

If there is doubt the club will appeal

It was not a bump. May stood his ground, braced himself for contact when the dumbass Brisbane player ran into him. A bump is when you move towards someone with the intention of connecting. May stood his ground....

I wonder what ‘look’ Christian considered when Mitchell elbowed Goldstein in the back of the head 100 metres away from  the ball last year?

Christian has a bad case of 'selective criteria'...

Nothing in it. The watering down of our great game continues.

Tough one for MFC - our backline is better with him there, and we could probably account for Port without him. Do we really want risk not having him available to match up on Hawkins in R2? Hawkins has a track record of belting anyone else we could put on him.

You mean the first point of contact was to May's shoulder

I plan on making this my last post re this matter, as it's not a big enough issue to warrant too much time wasting.

Your post is drivel.

I don't know if you've ever played football, but one player knew there was a collision coming and the other didn't.

Ryan Burton gets off for his hit on Shaun Higgins. Cosmetic surgery required, concussion

Steven May gets one week, no concussion, player walks off, no surgery.

Makes sense...

I don't think May should be suspended.

Did you see the drivel I was responding to ?

Apologies, didn't scan the entire thread.

But for anyone that thinks May deserves a week:

Well seems pretty simple to me, show this vid at the appeal, cant really see this is fine if May is a week.

Pretty happy to see the uproar from oppo supporters about how terrible this suspension is. Proves its not just my red and blue glasses.

So Munford smacks his opponent in the face with his foreman , deliberate action.

Gets off his ban and May who stood his ground and his opponent 'throws' himself backwards gets a week.

Our game is in such good hands, we never know what decision is about to occur when the umpire blows his whistle and now  we can guess work Christian's interpretations. How is it possible to suggest that Munford's action was of less force than May's ?

The game is 'in such good hands!'  yeah right!

Higgins didnt bump him high. was a clash of heads.

May bumped his neck/chin

the mumford decision was a disgrace.  AFL come out and say they want to outlaw the punch and then clear a blatent punch to the face.

Bulldust. Watch it in real time: may stood his ground and turned at the last second to avoid being injured himself. Berry ran into him. Like I keep saying, watch the bloody thing in real time: may had a split second to decide what to do. To step out of the way was NOT  an AFL FOOTBALLER'S OPTION.
