Thanks Saty.

When you say Academy, do you mean our Academy, and players we have priority access to? Or are they available for all clubs and we're just taking a look?

If I'm not mistaken, Fritta has been near the front in many of the running drill pics that I've seen this pre season.  I don't remember that of him last year, and if he has added that string to his bow, he will be a weapon and a half on the wing.

AFL Academy

Interesting to see that Joel Smith played ostensible defender on Weed - he was training with forwards earlier this preseason, yeah?

Was this due to unavailable players, just to give Weed a ‘big’ to be matched up on him?

Similar, Greg Stafford didn't have Gawn, Preuss or Bradtke so he worked with Keilty and Weid, I reckon it will be after Xmas when most of the rehabbers will be back in action, that we will see the defined lines at training

But then again Goody is a fan of versatility so we may see some 'interesting' choices

I aiways find it funny at training, some wear the hats but backwards, obviously not to keep the sun out of eyes, why bother?

Clarry, Baker and Frost wear a family tub of sunscreen between them

Keep the sun directly off the head or shield the back of the neck.

Based on the photos it looked like they were swapping the white "vest" indicating who was a forward in the contest. I'm quite comfortable with Smith being played as a swing man, either forward or back, depending on what's needed. Can't hurt to try him forward. He has endurance and can take a grab. If he can hit the scoreboard then he could be that third "tall" option.

True Andy.  If Bedford is good enough, and shows enough, then he'll be rewarded with senior footy.  I feel as though he's a different player to Spargo, but time will tell!

Bedford speed is ridiculous but has a tendency to really butcher the ball.  Hard as a cats head also

Must have had a huge downpour at Etihad during the VFL GF.

Didn't put his body on the line or stand under a high ball.

He's not a "Goody-type"player.

For Jeff's sake I hope he proves you wrong ProDee

I'm sure you'd be happy if he did. Wouldn't you?

Most hats have a sweat band also. Keeps the sweat out of the eyes

Some great photos as always Saty. Just wanted to say apart from mentioning the players in your captions you can tag them in the photo itself, that way it will show up in their tagged photos. They might appreciate that more than the captions.

How can he prove my eyes "wrong" ?

It's up to him if he changes his behaviours.

"It's officially time for some alarm bells. I'm concerned about the lack of impact from their best players." This comment about one of the teams contesting this Friday night’s game came earlier in the week from a so-called expert radio commentator by the name of Kane Cornes. He wasn’t referring to the Melbourne Football Club but rather, this week’s home side, Geelong. The Cats are purring along with 1 win and 2 defeats and a percentage of 126.2 (courtesy of a big win at GMHBA Stadium in Round 1 vs Fremantle) which is one win more than Melbourne and double the percentage so I guess that, in the case of the Demons, its not just alarm bells, but distress signals. But don’t rely on me. Listen to Cornes who said this week about Melbourne:- “They can’t run. If you can’t run at speed and get out of the contest then you’re in trouble.
