Tom is certainly not built like a sparrow. Strong and tough with a beautiful kick just like Jack Watts. That pass to BB in last quarter and goal off one step in the third  good examples of his ability. Going to be a great is my humble prediction.

Yeah man.
I reckon he's got it going on too.
Kicked a couple nice set shots while under pressure as well over the last few games.
Makes good decisions and kicks like mule.

And to think some “demonlanders” scoffed at the idea of Sparrow replacing Jordon late in the season,

refer to separate thread ‘Tom Sparrow’.

The problem for Tom is that the midfield is a tough place to break into in any meaningful way. Viney and Harmes being injured was a blessing for Sparrow and Jordon and with our mids being in their primes - we are going to struggle to keep those pushing to replace them.

We have to stop thinking so much about 'midfield' coz we got that covered. We must think about our young talent who have universal appeal and indications of longevity as being "diversified superstars', capable of multifunctional roles in the team from unlikely field placements - and let that capacity gurgle and mellow into something of unique capabilities.

Like others have said, i wasn't sure how he would cope with the pressure but he looked so comfortable.

Anyone else see shades of a young Nathan jones in the way he goes about it, Chunk 2.0 perhaps.

I reckon we should give him #2.

Maybe retire #2 for a season as a tribute to chunk!

Nah ...
I remember Stewie Lowe handed his straight to Kozinski.

Turning into a gun.

Are we better off with him in the centre square and push Trac fwds more. Gives the class fwds and not lose anything at the coalface

Tom Sparrow is just on the edge of becoming a very good player.  We can rotate him through from the interchange or the half forward line.  He needs to tidy up his ball handling but his strength at the contest, tackling and skills make him a promising youngster. Together with JJ, Tom’s going to be very important.   Good work again from JT.

Lacks decision making & composure but definitely has a few weapons. Feels like a Harmes 2.0 with a bit less Hollywood in his game.

Reminds a bit like Nate Jones early in his career, where if he had a clear path forwards he was much more damaging.

Wouldnt mind seeing Gawn and Trac spend more time forward, with Dogga and Sparrow spending more time in the middle. Would definitely go a long way to fixing our forward issues.

To keep Tom developing and satisfied we probably have to have CP5 forward more. But he was straight back in there when the game was close.

Tom Sparrow another astute pick up by Dees I have been on his case since day one after reading his school coaches comments and AFL predictions. He has a range of weapons and probably would be getting more mid field time in a weaker side, he is surrounded by superstars and has to play his role each week. However he is building his game nicely and is now starting to be noticed and mentioned by the commentary teams. He has cemented his place in our top 22 and has a bright future with the mighty Dees, as has his partner in crime JJ.!!

Tough, uncompromising in the JV sense, strongly built and a booming kick.  What is there not to like about him? (Unless you are a Footscray fan and remember the last minute of the 3rd and the first minute of the 4th Q 2021 GF 🤗❤️💙❤️💙)
