I would imagine these clean ups are not unique to the Dees.

all the more reason to buy shares in a hospital

Some of them make a lot of money, but there is no doubt the wear and tear on the body is a huge sacrifice.

A life long sacrifice.

I was talking to Robbie Flower one night and he could hardly get off the couch and he said it was just as hard getting out of bed in the morning.

Its a reminder of the physical toll of AFL footy and a reason why we should never call players soft.

Add Oscar Mcdonald . He had an operation on his Hip which is why he was not at the B&F

There was a bloke doing a bloody good impression of him then, check out the Roaming Harmes clip, with Gawn

I didn't see him at the event, guess he was there at some stage if he is in the clip.I was chatting to T Mac at the afterparty who said he was not there due to operation on his hip, probably left B&F early.

Sydney should pick up the tab on that one.

Reminds me of the old joke about the guy who went to have a haircut while at work. The boss told him he couldn't do that. The employee said, "Why not? My hair grows on company time". The boss replied, "But you only work 8 hours a day". The employee said in response, "That's why I only asked the barber to shorten my hair by a third."

Injured while doing battle for the MFC. MFC picks up the tab. It’s not a difficult concept.

If May or Kolodjashnij are having surgery, should we pick up the tab? (Hint: the answer is no.)

Said in jest mate.

I know full well that's an MFC responsibility.

Walking dead

Pretty amazing we got as far as we did when more than half of our best players in finals have ended up having serious post-season procedures.

Can imagine Barrie, was not suggesting the chronic injury problem only applied to AFL.

Many blokes I know who played in the Ammos for any length of time have arthritis or hip replacements in middle age.

Same for country footy, but most blokes in the country just limp!

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: St. Kilda

The Demons return to Casey Fields (aka the Field of Dreams) this Saturday to host the Saints in Round 2. If you’re feeling lucky, head down the Monash for some family-friendly footy—you might even walk away a winner. The first 5,000 adults through the gate will receive an entry into the $10,000 helicopter ball drop. With Casey’s infamous wind, what could possibly go wrong? Closest ball to the pin wins. So spread the word, get down there—and good luck!
