Don't know sue but there is something missing in the story.

The MFC seems too methodical and calm from day 1. Almost like they started the trade for reasons of their own.

We didn’t shop him around OldDee. But it does take two to tango.

Freo clearly came banging on our door hard with promises of gold, silver, frankincense and myrrh this time, so we’ve let them inside the security grille to cast an eye over their wares.

I believe that’s all that’s happened here. Two willing traders, yes. But Freo definitely initiated it.

There's a propensity on here (and elsewhere) to denigrate every journo who utters something that supporters don't like.

It's very childish.

And even the most clueless journo knows more than just about every individual who posts here.

Tom Browne doesn’t strike me as your typical Rhodes Scholar. I could easily see a crafty little bugga like Peter Bell feeding him disinformation. And him swallowing it.

Tom Browne saying Hogan will leave this year or next. Not sure I want him in the team when he has one leg back in WA.

MELBOURNE want pick 5 and a future first round pick from FREO

Tom Browne you fool.

if we let hogan go for a first and 2nd rounder then i think it takes away all of Mahoneys good work in the past. he has a history of over spending.

God people talk rubbish.  What has he over spent on?

Melksham and Hibberd are absolute steals based on output.

Lever cost pick 10 and 14 and is a year younger than Hogan and just as much upside.

If we get 5 and and a mid- late 1st rd or early 2nd rd, then this is equivalent to what we paid for Lever.  People are living in fantasy land if they think we will get picks 4 and 5 for Hogan.

Freo know they can’t afford to let this opportunity to sign hogan slip because they may not get another one. They also need to sign a big fish to stop members from jumping ship and lobb doesn’t cut it.

They will buckle if we hold our nerve. They want hogan more than they want their 2 picks. No doubt in my mind.

My thoughts of a fair deal would be Pick 5 plus a mid first rounder (around the ballpark of 10) for Hogan plus perhaps a mid-late second round pick.

I want us to trade aggressively with Jesse and not undercut, of our current crop he’s the first of our big names to potentially move on. We can’t end up on the losing side of this one, least of all to Freo.

Someone get Tommy Browne a Walkley, stat!

Dont want to upset the so called "Chiefs" on this forum but Tommy Browne you have got to tell us something we don't already know.

Freo didn't come to our door. They went to Jesse's.

Big difference. Thing is WE own that door.

But curiosity is we've thrown it open and they've gone into hiding.

A lot about this makes no sense....if you accept the often trotted out scenario. So obviously very little is what it looks like.

Here’s the reason for the hold up. Basically Peter Bell has dug heels in over Lachie Neale.

This impasse has the potential to bog every other club down in the mud until the final day of trade week.

Mahoney might have to consider issuing Freo a deadline. Monday 5pm or all Hogan talks end and the player remains a Demon.

Looking increasingly like Bell needs to have some proper heat placed on him.

The only reason, nothing from the Lions about it either.

I’m not seeing how that makes a difference B’bub? Whether they called Hogan or us first seems immaterial, at the end of the day they have to deal with us.

Jay Clark reporting he’s past his medical/freo are satisfied with the state of his foot. It’s not just down to finding a trade

dees won’t budge on 2 first rounders. Nor should they.

People certainly do talk rubbish. Hogan far more valuable unit than Lever.

Better news from Clark and Warner.

5 and 16 would do me. 5 and 21 would as well really.

I'll even give Brisbane a 3rd rounder to send to Freo to move the Neale deal along!

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
