It is understood speculation can be traced back to Fremantle, which is in trade talks with the Lions over ball magnet Lachie Neale."

If true the AFL need to take action.  If they have done this deliberately they should lose picks next year.

lol, nothing is true in trade week until registered with the afl. zip, nada, zilch

or as goody would say, it's all fugazi

Fun and games...fun and games.

Freo going hard .... at making friends ;)

Freos pick6 has gone to Port, they’re getting pick 5 from Brisbane for Neale, so we should take nothing less than pick 5 & pick 11 for Hogan.

Theres talk that Freo are going to offer us picks 11 & 2nd rounder as they want to keep pick 5

No way in the world should accept that even if GS accept 11 for May.

Two 1st rounders or keep Hogan next year & go with the 3 talls in the forward line & existing backs plus Lever in defence, could just about win a flag in 2019 with that line up.

11 and a second rounder should elicit the strongest GAGF the footy world has ever heard.

Still, its just speculation at this stage so i should just chill...........................................................

Lucky we have T Mac and Weed

not only the 6-6-6 that is valuable for key forwards and backs. The hands in the back rule being relaxed to allow players to 'protect' the drop zone of the ball.... very interesting.

dean kent has just been traded for pick 65

Shame Dr but he had his chances AVB Hannan and Fritsch all ahead of him

terrible deal.

Not a good start by us.

You really think Kent is worth more than this?

The bloke can hardly get out on the park.

North Melbourne traded a guy to the Swans who played 20 odd games in 2018 for pick 61.

Worse than losing him to the saints via the PSD?

I don't see much point haggling over deals like this when we've got bigger fish to fry (May, Hogan, Kolodjashnij, Preuss, etc). We were never going to get much more for Kent than that.

Edit: I managed to spell Kolodjashnij correctly on the first attempt, but stuffed up the spelling of Preuss...

I don't know what I'm doing but if I hold out long enough people will think I'm Adrian Dodoro.

Not much better. We've done ok with pick 53 but I don't know of any good picks at 65. Pretty much unuseable therefore no better than PSD. Clearly FD wanted to move him on. Same as Swans moving on Rohan for pick 61

Lincoln McCarthy, who has been as injured as Kent went for pick 61... Ryan Clarke as you say went for 61, and didn't Gary Rohan get traded for that pick too?  65 sounds about right!

Too late.  There has been a lot of pre-emptive whingeing already.

Clubs are happy to help depth players move to clubs where they may get more of an opportunity.

The North one was more of a head scratcher as he is best 22. I guess with Hall and Polec coming in they thought he was surplus.

Agreed.

I think Kent probably has shown enough to suggest that he can be best 22 when fit, but on the body of work... the guy has just had rotten luck with injuries. Thats why he's moving on.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
