Tell them how it is done, Bazz.   Nev up to kick the winning goal deep into time on Q4?

I think you're on to something there, Mono!  Has a nice ring to it!  (Although, to be honest, don't think my heart would survive that.  Would prefer we get a commanding lead before 3/4 time, and hold it through the last 1/4.)

But, first we gotta get it done today.  Would be nice to put the crowd out of the equation by blowing them away in the 1st Qtr, lead by 7 goals at 1/4 time and extend the lead each 1/4 from there.

I can dream!  (54 years gives one a lot of time to develop very wild dreams!!)

GO DEES!!!!!

Is one of those guys' Ch7's CEO who midyear (when the ratings were down) said something like:  "...all we need is to get Collingwood up and about..."

He got his wish!!  Get ready for saturation Thur/Fri/Sat night Coll games on FTA ?

Losing sides often look sh-thouse but it is usually the other side that causes that. It is not just that they played poorly, they were made to play poorly by a better side on the night.

Credit when credit is due.

Our frenetic pressure beat Cats, Hawks, WCE and GW$

Hi Red,

Rance can do some brilliant things, fair enough, but with respect disagree re having in the side; Davis, Stewart, Hurn, Laird, McGovern are all players I would love before Rance, his acting really irritates the bejeezus out of me.

He tri d and failed several times to milk frees that he would often have got ..... locked the look of amazement.  Rather like Selwood, Dangerfield, Hawkins and Ablett when they missed out on frees they felt that they surely deserved.

Couple of things out of the game.

Noticed quite a number of non handballs that were tap on with the open hands, sometimes in a row by Coll.

Noticed lots of unpaid free kicks, in packs, in backs and high. So a lesson to tomorrows Umpires or just wishful thinking,

Were the players happy with Dustin, i wonder because should he have declared not fit?

So many incorrect disposal  not paid both ways

Corruption and collusion at its finest, even by AFL standards

Not sure why people are talking about playing the Pies, they are in it, we aren't.

Based on tonight's form, can't imagine any Dee who wouldn't have preferred paying Richmond next week.

Either way, we still gotta get through the Eagles and that's a huge ask at Optus. Play the same game at the MCG and we'd smash em.

Please get the job done Dees!!

Honestly,  I'd always rather play a team that looked bad in a loss: the form team always goes through.

The question is: did Collingwood already play their grand final?

wow .. there are some weird vibes here about playing Collingwood.

IF we win today it will give us the opportunity to write history.

The bookend theory would do more for this club than any can imagine. It's a marketer's dream.

Go West and Conquer young Demons !!!

Whoever wins today must stop Coll winning the GF - it will be their 16th flag equal with Ess and Carlton.

Hopefully it is us but they must be stopped!

Are the random drug tests done after the club song or before it?

Yes, Pies played well but after about the !st 15 minutes Tiges went completely into  their shell and became completely reactive. Once you do that in this game it's game over. They were pretty much out numbered at the contest from then on. As long as we do our homework and don't fold like the Tiges we are a big chance if we win today.

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
