First Final

If it's Sydney it'll be at the Showgrounds.

Holds about 30k at most.

Bulldogs played  a final there in 2016. Lots of complaints about not enough tickets for Bulldogs fans in an effort to get it moved to either SCG or ANZ stadium but as I recall everyone from the Bulldogs who wanted to go got a ticket in the end.

Mind you there may be more Orange People these days ;)

If it's in Sydney it's at the SCG...  against Sydney.

We can only play GWS again if we have a draw this week

if we lose, GWS go 5th.  Geelong win by a decent margin, they catch our %.

therefore we finish 8th and play GWS.  if Geelong dont hammer Suns, we play away to Shydney

This is only if our + gold coast's losing margin is less than ~50, very unlikely you would think given geelong and gc's form lines

By finals, GWS should have Toby Greene, Delidio, de Boer, Corr, Taylor back.

Davis, Griffen and Reid will also have had the bye to freshen up so they will be much harder to beat the second time round.

Big game this Sunday!!

If we do play in Sydney week 1, I suggest jumping in early to get flights.

All the frequent flyers (me included), will be on the Qantas website trying to score freebies with points.

The real question is, fly in fly out, or fly in, stay the night so you can drink post match, then fly out?

Hopefully we win on Sunday and get to play at the G.

Watch this space - We'll beat GWS, then knock the Cats out of the finals in triumphant fashion.

Third time lucky sort of a deal.

...and it will be so sweet.

Yep. I really hope we play the cats.

After the last two losses the boys will be confident they'll roll them this time.

Win this weekend is important to set it up

If the Dockers beat the Pies next weekend (and we overcome GWS), then we will be playing the Tigers at the MCG on the First Week of the Finals!

Certainly hope that we get this double chance (as I will be overseas on the first weekend of the finals)!

I honestly don't care who we play or where we play (although being there in person is a preference) We are equipped to play well against any team,  even Richmond.  We'll need to bring our best game but we've been trained and coached to do that.

It's like we started off with a triple-chance - Swans then Eagles then GWS ... we blew the first opportunity then made amends with the 2nd go at it.  We've now got chance no.3 to secure a home final first up or if we're really lucky,  2 more chances if we somehow snag 4th spot.

But taking 2 wins in the last 2 rounds into the finals series would be great for the group's confidence.  And then whoever we play we can beat.  Richmond are ahead of the rest but the rest are all very similar in terms of talent.

I am totally with you Macca; in past finals tilts I have always been hoping to face certain teams but this year, maybe because the comp is so even or maybe because I think our team is strong I am happy to face anyone, anywhere!  If we lose, so be it but if we win....Toot Toot!

No doubt. They didn't deserve to win either of those games, and there's no way we'll gift them another.

We'll beat them when it counts!

Yeah, I'm so pumped. I think the somewhat removal of pressure will allow the boys to play their natural style and send a message coming into the finals. I'll be there, can't wait to see it in person!

Man, I'd love for this to happen - but I've the misfortune of watching a few Dockers games this years, and the Pies need to win to keep their top4 possie, so I just can't see it happening.

But don't get me wrong, if it does - a clash against the Tigers and a double chance would be AMAZING.

We have a great record against the Tigers, and we started strong against them earlier in the year (bit couldn't capitalise) when we didn't quite have our stuff together.

Out of interest.... Have we ever played at the Sydney Showgrounds?

I can recall playing GWS at Manuka but cannot say I can recall a Showgrounds game. Mind you GWS v MFC matches were never big on FTA.

We have DJ. Once from memory  in Roosy’s first year. Lost by about 5 goals.

How much would Geelong need . I will be watching and ready to get airfares so all relevant.

If we lose and Cats win a 61 point total would see them above us and us playing GWS again.

We need to win this week and score a home final against the Cats.

    DERAILMENT by KC from Casey

It wasn’t quite a trainwreck although at times, it sure looked like one, so I’ll settle for “derailment”.  The trip to Brighton Homes Arena in Springfield outside the back of Brisbane might not exactly be the same place where Homer Simpson’s family resides but, if you listened closely to the utterances of the Casey Demons fans both at the ground or watching via livestream, you could hear lots of groaning and plenty of expressions of “D'oh!” reverberating in the background, particular

TEN YEARS AFTER by Whispering Jack

Things have changed in the more than ten years since the West Coast Eagles decimated Melbourne by 93 points on the MCG early in the 2014 season. The two sides had not met at the home of football in the interim until yesterday when Melbourne won by a comfortable 54 points to remain in contention for this year’s finals series. Back in those days, the Demons were in the midst of their Great Depression but they have since tasted premiership glory and experienced a long enough period among

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

It’s game day and the Demons return to Melbourne to play the Eagles at the MCG for the first time in over a decade. A win keeps the Dees finals hopes alive whereas a loss will almost certainly slam the finals window shut.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
