I really feel like Richmond will slip back to the pack in rounds 18-23 and not have great form come September, no idea why just a hunch.

It's quite amazing really teams 1-10 all possibilities to win the flag.

I would put adelaide into that group as they are still to get some strong players back but I think it might just be a bridge to far from here to make the 8

Richmond are way out on there own imo, throw a blanket over the rest just makes my up the numbers, maybe Sydney can get them on there day, all can change however if the tigers copped some injuries to key players

I agree Richmond are not slipping back to the pack.... they're shaking the rest of the comp off !!

Oh to be a Tiger fan.....i can only dream of such success...

then i wake....last two games losses....to two kinds of magpies :(

Gold Coast are [censored], even moreso without Lynch. Gonna be a few big percentage boosters for the lucky teams still to play them.

At least we’ve had Geelong balls up this round , and port didn’t gain much % off carltank either

I’m 50/50 on gws dorks , as the dorks will almost certainly make the 8 with their easy draw , might be better to shut gws out

We just need a strong win tomorrow to get back on track

GWS incompetitence in front of goal keeping the Dorks in it. Dorks being smashed in the clearances but Giants brain fades and poor kicking means the Dorks are in it.

Thanks Adelaide for beating meth coke when it really mattered .... rd 23 2017 says ?

I have moved on from that sad weekend - Adelaide did not cost us finals, our guys did by drowning in their own bathwater the day before.  Came out thumping their chests thinking of the Collingwood game as merely warm unto finals ... YUK!

Who here would even remember the WCE Adelaide game had our team done what it should have, and could and would have had they had the right attitude, which is focussed and ruthless?

No idea what that 50m penalty to the Hawks was for?

AFL is a farce! It’s a horrible game too watch these. And the AFL shiuld hang there heads...

The umpire paid it for Hopper being too close to Ceglar who had the mark. Hopper wasn’t even close to Ceglar and was running boundary side. Absolute rubbish!

The game has some issues,  but this is the most frustrating of all. It's not in the spirit of the game. I've seen half a dozen this weekend already.

Imagine if this rule costs someone a final,  what an absolute joke.

It will cost somebody a final. It’s just a matter of when...

I could almost switch off from watching football for good. I’m that close...

The game is definitely going backwards. Even the commentary these days is pathetic. I almost vomit when listening to some. ?

Filth giving up junk goals....the Sun shines !!!

You're not supposed to know...

It's about the vibe......

The umpiring has gone completley mad. Can't touch the ball without a free kick being awarded for something or other.

What a delicious soft free kick that was to Patton. Who was it again that complained to the AFL CEO over coffee about forwards being unfairly manhandled without receiving free kicks?

Oh god richmond collingwood top 2 . If that is a grand final play off Im leaving the state for a few weeks. Country even.

But can I say the games that have been on 7 have been great to watch.

Wayward kicking for goal, dump kicks inside 50 and some baffling umpiring all contributed to the Dees not getting out to an an early lead that may have impacted the result. At the end of the day the Demons were just not good enough and let the Hawks run away with their first win against the Demons in 7 years.

  • NON-MFC: Round 09

Round 9 kicks off out west with the Dockers hosting a Collingwood side resting several stars. Fremantle need to make a statement on their home deck after some disappointing form on the road, while the Magpies will be keen to maintain their Top 2 position. Friday night sees a must-win clash between two sides desperate to stay in touch with the eight. St Kilda have shown glimpses while Carlton are clinging to relevance after a flat start to the season. Saturday’s twilight game at Marvel pits the Bombers against a struggling Sydney outfit. Essendon can’t afford another close match against a lower-ranked side, while the Swans risk sliding down the ladder even further. Up in Darwin, the fourth-placed Suns will look to extend their stay in the top four. The Bulldogs have hit their stride with three big wins on the trot and will be very keen to consolidate on their momentum. The always fiery Showdown looms as pivotal for both clubs. Adelaide are eyeing a spot in the Top 4 with a win, while Port Adelaide’s season could slip away if they drop another game and fall further behind the pack. Sunday begins with a yawn fest between Richmond and West Coast. The Tigers need to bank the points to stay clear of the bottom two, while the Eagles are still chasing their first win of the year. The Giants face one of the league’s toughest road trips as they travel to GMHBA Stadium to face the Cats. With GWS at risk of a third straight loss, Geelong will be eager to consolidate their position inside the eight and start their climb up the ladder. The round wraps up with the top-of-the-table Lions heading to Ninja Stadium to take on the second-last Roos. The Lions should easily take care of the struggling Roos who might be powerless against the best in the comp. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?
