tata little boy.

I thought you were more mature last time I witnessed you, but you regressed some how?ย  your age going backwards.ย  how do you do that?

Grinter is the equal of all of them, in terms of effectiveness.

Absolute Rubbish. Grinter spent a season and a half sitting in the Grand Stand suspended.ย

and you put him in the same category as Jim Stynes??

that is true swyl just as you don't.

ย

So obviously I'm talking about their games played.ย  Not how many, but the influence they have in the games they play.

That's how I determine their effectiveness.

ย

I'm not voting like a best & fairest,,,,, as that desn't win games or Premierships.

I'm talking about doing things for the team to win matches, and sacrifice acts. etc, team acts.

Grinter is a great player of that era, and of Melbourne.ย

not "the Greats" not the "LEGENDS",ย  but a great of Melbourne.ย ย  and of that afl era.

No he is not. He could have been

But there was too much blatant thuggery even by 80โ€™s standards

Good grief. What is this thread even?

Of course they are going to hop into lever. It's part of footy, it's part of Aussie sport.

What Wallace said is mild and unremarkable.

Some of you should never go near a cricket field. You'd positively faint, my dears.

As for Grinter, he was a decent player with surprisingly good skills. Great? In your dreams. Hard nut, for sure. There were times when you were rapt Rod was on our side, as he "explained" a few things to the oppo. Other days when you wished he had held things in check.

His hit on Wallace, I think was one of those split second things where if he'd hit the ball, play on and no damage done. Or clipped Wallace, free kick, over and done with. As it happened, I think there was no malice and he was remorseful afterwards. Compare with eg Matthews who was completely devoid of feeling, or Ronnie Andrews who was too far the other way.

Grinter, a good guy, playing for the good guys, with hard but wayward fists.

Your being blinded by stats, like games played. If Coleman was judged that way, he wouldn't anything more than a good ordinary footballer.ย ย  Which is what ANB & Tyson are at present.

Rodney was much better than that, and yes he missed a stack of games, but he swung a lot of wins our way, as well.

Lockett missed a stack of games.

Brereton lost a stack of games.

Dipper as well.

Greg Williams.

Jonathon Brown early days.

Again, not one of the Greats, but he was a great footballer of his time.

Disagree

Theyโ€™ve targeted him a bit... all itโ€™s done is fire him up. Close to BOG in the first half. Cheers Plough!

Boy theyย sure shook him up ?

It was like the grand final all over again. Lever the only one with any idea how to play footy under any sort of pressure.ย

Great idea, helium man.

About as successful as your various attempts at coaching.

I will always believe Grinter was going fairly for the ball and it went a bit pear shaped.ย

Never thought there was nothing malicious in it.

Agree. It was an overly exuberant attempt to spoil.

Well our Adelaide supporting friends have moved on. One drone on Adelaide BF declared that Lever " wasn't missed". Another dolt said Doedee was "better than Lever". They're sharp as bowling balls in Adelaide.

Certainly Tex "Einstein " ย Walker has been proved right.

spot on, it sounded just like it on radio, but looked like we stifled them more-so,,, on the Telly.

Totally. Plus not having Lever there to deliver the half time spray probably didn't help either

ย

Congrats Jake on having a very impressive game which would have been in your mind since joining our club. Class act. Pity Tex Walker wasn't on the field to appreciate it.ย
