Martin is on fire. Whoever is on him, is struggling.

Maddening domination for zero reward.

TBH our skills around the ground has been decent, but our conversion in f50 is poor.

Keep giving them easy shots tho.

Imagine if we played 4 quarters for every game!

This has to be the game where we win big 70pts plus surely. should be 30 up already.

I'm out all day so I'll be keeping tabs on my phone.  As I can't discuss the game with all you wonderful* people, I'll leave you with these:

- A 5 goal win is fine.  In fact, ANY win on the road is fine.

- Dom Tyson is the best disposer of the football in the AFL and will hit target after target today.

- Don't [censored] your pants when Gold Coast kick the first and then refer to the lead up play as 'reminding you of the Mark Neeld days'

- ANB should be a long distance runner at the next Olympic Games.

- Dees to win... by 5 goals...

*Most of you are wonderful...

Brian Taylor certainly agrees with this assessment of the mighty Dom T.

Amazing how frigging blind most commentators are: they see what they want to see...

Nibbler!

Donsnt look like we have found second gear yet

8 inside 50's for 3 goals. 18 inside 50's for 3 goals.

We have been wayyyy too easy to score against this year. We really do open ourselves up on the counter-attack.

Yep, time to put a hard tag on him.

Umps inconsistent on this.

We can overuse it like no one else - and our inside 50 structure still doesn’t look convincing (not sure what it is!).

Very very disappointing. Dominated then dropped off. Why the [censored] do we refuse to leave a tall one out in the square??????

Despite a spirited third quarter surge, the Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, remaining winless and second last on the ladder after a 39-point defeat to Essendon at Adelaide Oval in Gather Round.

  • GAMEDAY: Essendon

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.
