Pedersen would have been handy today.

Despite our good win, our inability to take a mark in the forward fifty hurt us a lot.

This is laughable, mate. I don't mind Pedersen. He can get on the scoreboard, but at the end of the day, he doesn't do enough defensively. We can't have that in our forward half in 2018 and beyond.

He provides structure and a marking target forward when Hogan is up the ground. There were at least a dozen occasions when we could not get anyone to take a mark in the forward fifty because North had numbers back and we didn't have any options.

When Majak Daw is taking uncontested marks in your forward line you know something is wrong.

You don't need a second tall. Richmond proved this last year and continue to do so. It's all about ball use and getting it in quickly. We're kicking to the advantage of our forwards well enough and until we do, it doesn't matter who's down there. I'd prefer guys you create pressure though and can get it on the deck. Pedersen rarely offers this.

We did need a second tall yesterday, that's my point.

Keep up.

Lol. Did we lose?

Well... the battle took place on the outer car park as distinct from  the main arena but the Weid did win.

This being said Pedersen was not disgraced in that his half forward play was very strong.

Looks like we will have a rematch on the plains of Avalon next week.

On a more serious note the Casey forward line is over manned with talls which contrasts strongly with the senior side. Makes meaningful comparisons difficult.

Jimmyboy, guess one had to be there to understand this post

Thanks for trying though !

I don't think either will get a game anytime soon, I think we will play small like Richmond until Tommy comes back.

I can't see Pedersen playing another game surely he is the past and we have to look to the future in Weideman.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

The Demons head back to Melbourne after an embarrassing loss to the Dockers to take on the Magpies at the MCG on Kings Birthday. With a calf injury to Lachie Hunter and Jacob van Rooyen possibly returning from injury who comes in and who goes out?
