Is anyone else who renewed their membership last year still waiting for their membership package to arrive? If it's just me, I'll contact the club.

I did the annual payment in 2016. Before Christmas 2016, renewed automatically, no problem. 2017, nothing. Finally I had to do it myself in January as I was getting tired of waiting.

Dunno if it’s too late, but can I get my name on my card changed?  No one, not even my own father calls me “Cassandra”.

They do now...!

What's this about scarves? I received none. Don't we pick them up at the G?

PS: enough with the whinging. Membership is a duty.

Yes will be able to if you ring the Membership Team. The only problem will be getting the card before the first game.

Uh, never mind then. Not worth the risk. I suppose I can be “Cassandra” one last year.

So, I contacted the club today to find out that some genius decided to merge my details with another person with the same first and last name. The records now show that I have a different middle name, postal address and email but the same phone number. According to the MFC officer I spoke to that "genius" works for the Melbourne Cricket Club. On the plus side, my membership pack has been re-ordered, although how he knows for sure that I've actually paid my membership is beyond my understanding.

If anyone out there is a Melbourne Cricket Club member waiting for their MFC membership pack to arrive, I recommend you call the club. Surely I'm not the only person this has happened to.

Pick them up on game day at the stand next to the Membership Hub.

My post was in jest as the poster claimed he posts them world wide.

Lovely name. Why not keep it?

He wont. Cassandra isn't even that keen on it.

Not sure what the best way to contact club is but we all crave content of our team as supporters and part of being a member is getting access/insight into the team. Not sure if Matt Burgan is on a sabbatical but the content is so down on previous years and even then it’s been sub par.

1m 30 sec videos are not ok from the camp up the coast... who is best to speak to at the club?

We rely on Saty for summer training reports and  instagram shots. He doesn’t even get paid.

Aww too sweet!

Its just that everyone knows me as Cassie since childhood. Even my father who named me calls me Cassie.

They nick-named me 'Cass' based upon part of my surname, and every party I went to in my uni days it was always: 'Jumpin Jack Flash it's a Cass!' Never lived it down. Thank heavens no-one who can remember  the 1960s lives nearby...

Just seeking clarification. Do they live elsewhere or have they all died?

Poorly worded, sorry. I meant no-one from my circle of friends from that era.

No need to apologise and it wasn't poorly worded. I was just being a smart-thing. So, it's best that I apologise.

Saty does a terrific job and his comments are first rate.

Like all things MFC, stuff will happen and get better. This IS 2018 and I'd reckon that Burgan is just brushing up on his superlatives prior to our best season since '64, for journalistic accuracy.

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

The media has performed a complete reversal in its coverage of the Melbourne Football Club over the past month and a half. Having endured intense criticism from all quarters in the press, which continually identified new avenues for scrutiny of every aspect, both on and off the field, and prematurely speculated about the departures of coaches, players, officials, and various employees from a club that lost its first five matches and appeared out of finals contention, the narrative has suddenly shifted to one of unbridled optimism.  The Demons have won five of their last six matches, positioning themselves just one game (and a considerable amount of percentage) outside the top eight at the halfway mark of the season. They still trail the primary contenders and remain far from assured of a finals berth.

  • REPORT: Sydney

A few weeks ago, I visited a fellow Melbourne Football Club supporter in hospital, and our conversation inevitably shifted from his health diagnosis to the well-being of our football team. Like him, Melbourne had faced challenges in recent months, but an intervention - in his case, surgery, and in the team's case, a change in game style - had brought about much improvement.  The team's professionals had altered its game style from a pedestrian and slow-moving approach, which yielded an average of merely 60 points for five winless games, to a faster and more direct style. This shift led to three consecutive wins and a strong competitive effort in the fourth game, albeit with a tired finish against Hawthorn, a strong premiership contender.  As we discussed our team's recent health improvement, I shared my observations on the changes within the team, including the refreshed style, the introduction of new young talent, such as rising stars Caleb Windsor, Harvey Langford, and Xavier Lindsay, and the rebranding of Kozzy Pickett from a small forward to a midfield machine who can still get among the goals. I also highlighted the dominance of captain Max Gawn in the ruck and the resurgence in form in a big way of midfield superstars Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver.
