He looks to have a good turn of foot and is quick and obviously athletic , attributes for the modern game and above all else is a bit of a freak !

I take full credit for getting this guy, by exposing all his faults to the other 17 clubs, who were scared to take him before pick 31.

Good one, Redleg. Thoroughly agree that you nailed it a few weeks earlier and that is why I got on the bandwagon with you. I thought your succint judgement came to the fore when you mentioned his illiteracy! Very apt, as players must be able to read the coach's chalk board meanderings - so that may well have frightened away the WCE. Looks like Collingwood were successfully frightened off, as well so that makes two significant arrows in your quill. 'Carna Demons!

I'd like to refer Redleg's earlier, stoic yet penetrating work on the Demonland forum in regards to our acquisition, the young Mr Fritsch. Applying a novel logic and a keen sense of inter-operability with other clubs' list managers prior to last night's draft, Redleg brought it all together in a timely fashion - so much so that the entire thread disappeared before our eyes and those of the 'sniffers' at other clubs. High praise and commendation is all Redleg's. -_-

I have to admit one mistake though, I forgot to mention his tinea.

Seriously though, this kid does have some talent and hopefully he can become a senior player with us.

Good call,  you truly are a visionary.

Even ENYAW called it in August in the Delistings at End of Season thread.

When we were talking about the showers shyness at other clubs, I just presumed that this was unstated 'tinea' detritis about his person but now he is signed on, I have been assured that this has now cleared up and he is raring to go.

He has even enrolled in a course in modern language, reads well now, including other attribute developments to meet those standards expected of him.

See, your motivation was outstanding in more than one regard. Even CityDee (above) has commented as further proof that he '...looks to have a good turn of foot...', which in itself regarding the above, now-unmentionable ailment is a definite sign of his positive change and readiness. Good onyer, Redleg.

So excited to see this kid debut for the MFC...   the X factor is huge and hes skills are sublime.

Should benefit greatly from adding even just  a few extra kilos.  He is very slight.

Now that's a great photo

First day of training and Jesse fills Bayley in on his preferred delivery inside-50. Low and flat out in front, Fritsch.

Hoges is just indicating where he is un the pecking order up forward

Lovely user of the ball & good overhead but what's his defensive pressure like? If he wants to play forward he needs to chase & tackle.

Like the highlights, definitely an X factor which is a bonus.

With that number 2 on his back and his light frame, some of his plays remind me of a young Robert Flower.

Saw Fritsch play several times this year out at Casey and the kid has talent to burn.

Brilliant in the air for his build, good initial acceleration without being Jayden Hunt like and he tackles with intensity.

I'd be very suprised if Bayley doesn't make the grade and have no doubt he'll play senior footy in 2018 baring injury.

We've got a beauty!

It does look like he is a great recruit for us. Agility is just as important as speed and he has that. Endurance to do it again and again and to recover quickly will be his test the the coming season. Very happy that he was picked up - and it is an indication of how much our recruiting respected the potential of those appearing to join MFC before his selection.

Well Jesse better play in front then.

Yeah well the pecking order is wide open up forward so best he shut up and deliver himself

You sometimes get a feeling about a recruit and I just think that Bayley will be a good player for us. He has got to this point by virtue of hard work and he has undoubted talent. I just think he will make it. He will vie with the likes of Harmes, Hannan, Bugg, Melksham, JKH and Kent for a spot and he could end up the best of them.

He's building size nicely.

Sure is looking stronger and more demonic. Great to see, and let''s hope it comes out on game day.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
