Steve has this view that if you're not attacking the club then you must be defending it. If you're not ranting and raving, you must be happy with how things are. I'm surprised anyone even bothers replying to him anymore tbh.

@steve_f

I don't think  @Nasher was referring to you.  I think he was referring to 'stevethemanjordan'

Would be sad to see you go, having been a member since 2005.

Looking forward our best players and the ones who will be guns are mainly under 23:

Oliver, Viney, Hogan, Petracca, Hunt

Even the next group other than Jones only just over 25

Gawn, Hibberd, Jetta, Jones

Compare to supposedly young Carlton best players

Cripps (young) Murphy, Kreuzer, Gibbs

Tigers

Dusty, Cotchin, Riewoldt, Rance

Geelong

Selwood, Dangerfield, Hawkins, Taylor

Port

Boak, Gray, Wines(23),

There is hope.

We need to become ruthless and I think Goodwin getting a few more solid players in over the draft will be able to instil this into the Demons.

Don't get too worked up over this stuff. It's pointless now. Move on and focus on next year.

Just as we have said after almost every disappointing season for the last half century

Get over it! The result is fact now...

This will be a springboard to sustained success...

I think Jones and Lewis have responded well to the week and season that was...

The club needs to be ruthless in trade and drafting. Player development needs to step up.

Possibly gain Lever (need to concrete our back 6). Outside running/goal kicking midfielders required (I believe Melksham can develop into a very good one). A ruck/forward who is deficult to match up on (trade in Mason Cox).

Do we trade our 2018 1st Round pick this season?

will be??  certainly should be.  IF they really want it to happen and wouldn't just like it to.

Such an un-Melbournian trait though.

Challenge for Goodwin is to get this very basic fact through to an all too comfortable playing group

I'm worried that we didn't get a single Rising Star nomination in 2017.

We had two players eligible: Weideman and OMac.  Which one of them do you think should have been nominated?

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
