GAMEDAY - Round 20

Featured Replies

As expected they have turned it into a bog and are icing the clock. Cannot comprehend how we did not even use this tactic after last week. Fucken amateur hour

So we could realistically drop to 10th after this effort.

Jetta is the only real consistent leader in this team.

We are getting nothing from the rest of the leadership team.

We have no REAL Leaders

Today is when performance should ramp up in readiness for September. But typical of so many Melbourne sides we fall apart and go weak at the knees

Leadership is Pathetic

Ooh look....kick it....mark it...kick goal ....nuclear science !!!

Giants have turned this into a scrap. Just what we should have done.

Did you hear Goodwin at quarter time?

"We were too quick kicking into the wind."

I find that astonishing. We played like millionaires kicking with a 10 goal breeze. And the Giants smashed us.

Absolutely gutted with this. We were planning on traveling next week from Adelaide for the Saints gam. I think id rather go to Chapel street!

Im afraid to say its not the breeze. we havent scored this qrt.

Too soon deever. But point taken. Surely it must be registering in Goodwin's head that what he's getting the team to do at the moment is not working.

Were not smart enough.

When we kick AGAINST the wind we bomb it long. When we kick WITH the wind we over use and kick short.

I DON'T UNDERSTAND.

I'm still in disbelief at how a team leading by 16 points can then let the opposition stroll out to a 36 point lead without even scoring. Unfathomable.

Should of been dropped already.

Forget the haunting of Round 11 — we’ve got this. Melbourne returns to its inner-city fortress for its milestone 100th AFLW match, carrying a formidable 10–2 record at IKON Stadium. Brisbane’s record at the venue is more balanced: 4 wins, 4 losses and a draw.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.
