Hi Andy,

Overnight the screen image for thread posts 'shrunk' and 'recent posts' appeared to the right again with several cms of blank space to the left and to the right. Yesterday the posts stretched the width of the screen.

The thread content is about 10 cm wide with the text portion 6cm wide.

Wondering if this is temporary?  Platform is firefox on Windows pc.

Cheers

We had to do a rollback of sorts and some of the changes/improvements I've made in the past few days were wiped. I've tried to replicate most but was only going of memory. Can you clarify what you mean by this?

Yes, thank you - the blank side spaces are gone   Still get Demonland ads and the 'Recent Posts' on the right side, when in threads but can live with those.

When the 'Bookmarks' side bar view is 'on' in firefox I see limited edit options eg font size, font colour, indents etc are missing.

When I turn off the side bar they magically appear (most of the time).

I can live with that also.

Just for interest, for a few days, the thread text spread across the screen without DL ads/Recent Posts and the full set of edit options were available regardless of the Bookmarks view on/off.

Cheers,

Those Demonland Ads and Recent posts are supposed to be there. The Ads are not the same ads that you get when not a life or annual member. These ads are Demonland ads asking people who have been generous in the past to help Demonland out occasionally by buying some cool merchandise or donating. None of it is mandatory as you have already been very generous. If you were not a life member you would have a huge skyscraper ad running down that side. It also displays recent posts as a shortcut for people.

I assume this is the forum software adjusting the number of editing options available in the text box where you write posts depending on screen real estate available. It is impossible for me to know everyones screens sizes and their browser preferences and habits. I selfishly just make sure that I am looked after in that department. :P

Cheers,

We had to arrange and rearrange the furniture in here a few times since the new software, the website shitting it's pants and then putting it all back together again and starting from scratch.

I'll still be tweaking things in the coming days and weeks.

It's a work in progress and I'm always learning new things, !@#$%ing up and starting again. I'm never satisfied.

Sorry to be a bother...the blank space on both sides is back again today...

...do other people with firefox see the same or is it something about the settings on my version?

Thanks again for all your work.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
