They can at least leap. Not even doing that.

Surely Frost is like, the perfect matchup for McEvoy...

Guys. This might be a 100 point loss. This is embarrassing.

Give me a break. We may be playing awfully, but all teams do. We just need to keep it within a 20-30 point margin and snatch a goal here or there in the next 5 mins like Freo and Geelong did to us.

Are we really that slow or is there some other explanation for the Hawks players always having 2-3 metres spare on all of our players when they break forward.

it's a game of inches guys. We are just a fraction off.

We should be a mile ahead with the standard Hawthorn have brought this year. Our over use of hand ball allows the opponent to continually close us down and we put ourselves under pressure with the turnovers and bring them into the match.  All they have to do is keep their feet, keep a few loose sweeper or two on the outside and wait for us to turn it over with yet another dumb handball and they're off to the races again.

We help other ordinary teams win by over using hand ball instead of going forward via kicking and hitting targets more often.

Now we cant even handball right.

Gotta get another goal here and not concede one in the last 30 secs as usual.

Roughy could be an awful footballer and we’d never know the difference with all the love he gets from the umps.

One minute left, time to give up a goal.

We gave them one, they just messed it up

…Only Rioli’s inaccuracy stopped me from offing myself there.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
