Things I'd Like To Hear In Tonight's Commentary

Hudson & Commetti in commentry with special comments by Scott Lucas boundary rider Mark Fine...

"so with that Hogan now holds the record for most amount of goals by an individual in one game"

'With the Demons outstanding form this evening, and the incredible announcement at half time of simultaneous breakthroughs in hair loss and obesity treatments it really is a great night to be a middle aged, overweight, balding Melbourne supporter.'

"...and for the third year running, the noise of all the Richmond supporters leaving the ground early tonight reminds us of wheels falling off a bandwagon. Ironically it was the same game last year when these noises surfaced and killed off any hopes of the Tigers doing anything meaningful for the season."

"Hard to believe he was able to achieve it in a single quarter."

Martin tries a don't argue on Viney and well, Jack argued back.

That is Martin done for the night

I was thinking along the lines from Bruce

"And the champion Dusty gives his hallmark don't argue to Viney......oh dear, Jack has grabbed his arm and pulled it right off!"

I would love to hear BT choking on his tongue.  I would love to hear Hamish McMuppet admit he wishes he was his brother.

I dont want to hear Bruce go "Dusty, Dusty,Dusty, Duuuuuussstttyyy!" And have a self inflicted bukake moment like he does with Cyril.

I wanna hear the skies open up and it pelt down after we get 10 goals in front.

Spot on.

Bruce having a self inflicted Bukake moment!!

Hahaha!

Doubt Bruce will be commentating tonight - they'll use him tomorrow. Think we'll probably be stuck with Hamish and BT :(

Oliver with 25 touches and 10 clearances in a half of footy, how good is this kid!?

The thread is things you'd like to hear - not things you're likely to hear. I think the idea is to exaggerate a bit.

"Hogan kicks his 6th as the Dees jump away to a 50 point lead. It's hard to split him and Oliver for the 3 Brownlow votes tonight!"

'The umpiring has been fair, rational, and sensible'

Hahahaha. Like I'll ever hear that.

You can hear it every week from the AFL.

True, but I try not to listen to North Korean radio

Be fair. If it was North Korean radio scripting the AFL's report, we would hear, 'Our Exulted Supreme leader Kim-Gil McLachlan has Single-Handedly officiated every AFL game in the History of Time and committed 0 errors while contributing a record 16 million goals across all proud and beatific member-teams.' I suppose it does sound somewhat familiar.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
