Where there's smoke there's...

Not sure what to make of this but Hogan has been photographed smoking darts at a music festival over here while on suspension. His bad behaviour vs Carlton didn't help our cause yesterday so I'm hoping the club come down hard on him for this, especially after he was granted leave to come to WA while suspended, smacks of abusing the clubs trust.

Not a good look at all, [censored] me it's round 3 and the wheels are starting to fall off I hope it doesn't translate any on field

Doesn't exactly scream I'm doing everything possible to come back in 100% tip top shape.

Bloody hell. Watts is dying in a ditch from exhaustion from rucking all day and Hogan is smoking darts at a music festival...

Why is he even at the concert..  He's thrown the privilege the club gives him to go back to WA at numerous stages in their face & us as supporters. Fair enough go home for a few days while your suspended but don't go to a concert & smoke/drink especially after what you did to get suspended.. Not a good look. Just go home for the weekend & keep a low profile FFS

Any music authorities comment on quality of line up?

Not a good look, but it's hardly a big deal.  I'd rather him puff on a ciggie than be popping pills instead.

you know it was just a ciggie?

Hope we slap him with another weeks suspension. Kid needs to learn and quit acting like his bigger then the club

Yes, I was there playing at the music festival.  We killed it.

I'd think he should be put on after school detention and the club should call his parents.

Very naughty indeed.

He won't think he's so cool when his father finds out.

Paparazi is a bit of a low life profession tbh

Even worse when it's just a punter tipping people in.

His old man might make him smoke the whole pack.

Lol it's just a dart. Was granted a few days off and took advantage. I see AFL players getting tanked and smoking all the time around Richmond and St Kilda.

Silly, silly stuff.

If he wants more time to take in music festivals and life in Perth then I say let him do so for an extra week.

I would be filthy if I were Jack Watts right now.  He copped all kinds of shif for coming back in bad shape. He turned things around and put in a lionhearted effort yesterday. If Jesse were to come straight back in now, it would send a horribly contradictory message.

We could be a chance of scoring Marlboro for our back of jumper sponsor now though.

Jesus ease up.

This is only a story if AFL players don't, normally, smoke during the season.

I'm 99.9% sure that they do, which means this is not a story.

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
