Well, after watching Petracca today, I sure hope the Saints supporters will get behind Paddy McCartin in the VFL game tomorrow.

...yes indeed, and they need to remind him it can take up to 6 or 7 years for a number 1 draft pick to come good.....

He does a bloody good strutt...

I tell you who has the strut going big time is Hunt. He's good and he knows it.

Can I change my vote?

Structures were terrific and putting aside Oliver (lol...the kid just 'gets' it ), I thought that Hunt's gut running, particularly as he chased down opponents, was awesome!

I've tried firefox, chrome, and safari. I've tried downloading Silverlight (I think that's what they use). Just a grey area.

I've loaded videos during the JLT series, maybe it's high volume of people using the website but I just want to see the song!

My Mrs is an import. Only been here for 12 months.

Was at work, and sent her a text at quarter time telling her to not waste her time with this hopeless team.

She told me to shut my head and support my team.

Had no service for the next 2 qtr while busy, and returned to 8 texts and 5 shouting, incoherent voicemail messages, laced with stuff that sounded like "puk yeah, go dees!", and the like.

Thank you Dees, a great day, and my lovely wife is living the dream.

Some seriously good coaching.

I thought we were done 1st qtr, and loved how all the players started running left nothing behind but put a score on the board. Then in the 4th you could tell everyone was cooked but we had it in the bag by then. So sorry for Nick and also Joel Smith he was really showing something straight out of the box.

Huge all team effort am deelerious

So true. The one big variable/unknown today was Goodwin's coaching/style/influence. Whatever he said or tweeeked at quarter time resulted in a turnaround that lasted 3 quarters. Cannot remember the last time a Demons coach did that, maybe Northey?

Would've love him to nail that goal at the end of the second quarter, he had it all in front of him and done all the hard work. Loves a goal too!

Really glad Jetta played despite the interrupted preseason. He was our rock down back today and one of our best. He's just super composed and is our rock in defence with the brain fades that the McDonalds and Bernie suffer from. Jeez Oscar was rubbish today. He was the only player to have a shocker today and it's disappointing to see he still has zero intensity out there and gets pushed around by guys 15kgs lighter than him. Really want Frost back fit to take his place.

Loved Oliver, Jones and Lewis through the middle. Hannah was great for a debutant. Read it well and went hard too.

Thank god the streak is broken. I hate going to that stadium. It was so damn hot in there too?!

Some large servings of humble pie re Jetta are also available for those who feel they need it. A picture of composure all day long. Comfortably best 22.

Absolutely, just looked composed or in control of every possession he had.

I couldn't really see much that changed at quarter time from a coaching perspective.  Id be interested if anyone saw any positional or match up changes.

But our mids got on top.  Largely through Clayton lifting I thought.  And that a) gave our finishers, like Petracca and Hunt, use of the ball, and b) took the pressure off our defenders.

When the mids perform Oscar and Co aren't forced to make 50/50 decisions on spoiling or staying down, on pushing up or coming back.

When the mids preform our forwards have space.

We're going to hurt this year when the mid field has a bad time of it. But when we're on top, we're going to look good.

Could see a pretty decent rise in membership numbers this week, both from bought at the game to a few signing on following the win.

What was important for mine was that during the first quarter where we were struggling a bit, Vince, Lewis and especially Jones were still able to lead the way.  It was the pups that lifted their game later during the 2nd and 3rd quarter blitz, but for mine that may not have happened if our top 3 senior players weren't leading the way.  All three were outstanding for mine.

Oliver though.  Wow.  That performance came as a surprise to exactly zero MFC supporters, of course, but gee it's good to see it starting to happen.  The only players who spent less time on the ground than Oliver were Smith and Melksham, for the record.

A huge shout out to Neal-Bullen.  I've been a critic, but he was very good and important today.

First half was underwhelming for me but he finished the game well.

Glad for him.

With no JLT Jetta was massive for us today.

Definitely proved he is in the best 22 but was there ever any doubt!

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
